I quite liked the return of a certain obscure alien race. In the hands of a lesser author, they'd be a mere joke, but Miles gets his cake and eats it, also making them a credible, fleshed-out threat. That they were fighting the Metatraxi was rather interesting, in light of Crime of the Century. Next up, Time of Your Life, by one Steve Lyons. It should be interesting, if nothing else as the first new adventure for the Sixth Doctor. Real world timeline-wise, Miles had probably heard about them from the aborted season 27 stuff in DWM. Alien Bodies certainly gives a race previously ridiculed some much deserved street cred, and even unknowingly references a Big Finish audio! Time of Your Life is slow to start, but it's a rather brilliant satire of the television industry, not unlike Vengeance on Varos in fact.

Finished up Happy Endings, now reading Original Sin. I wonder how Big Finish will cast a certain actor for a returning role? {Spoiler} Tobias Vaughn is rather important to the plot.

Just finished POP! by Aury Wallington on the recommendation of a friend. Did enjoy it, one of those Girl in high school novels. Seemed a bit of a rush at the end mind. Prefer her sci-fi stuff

Verdigris. A fun, quite meta novel. It's written by Paul Magrs, so naturally there are moments, often, where things don't make a lick of sense. There are references to the Avengers (Jo mentions her friend Tara King) and Tomorrow People (The Children of Destiny). I had a though on Original Sin. {Spoiler for a big plot twist of an almost twenty year old novel} Vaughn plants false evidence to incriminate the Seventh Doctor and Benny. From what the reader is aware of this false evidence, the Seventh Doctor doesn't quite sound right. He rather sounds like the Second Doctor. Vaughn is using the speech patterns of the Second Doctor because he has no idea the Seventh Doctor speaks differrrently!

Leviathan Wakes by James S. A. Corey. Enjoyed it very. Now waiting to see how television adaptation turns out. Fabulous story. You should read the books that come after that, they are also great. And there are a few novellas. Can't wait for the TV show!

Reading "The English Way of Death" for the first time; only about half-way through, but I'm really enjoying it so far.

Finished the new Rick Riordan, a modern take on Norse mythology much like Percy Jackson and the Kane Chronicles did for Greek, Roman and Egyptian mythology. A fun read, with the chapter titles a clear highlight.

Finished the Bernice Summerfield book Dry Pilgrimage last night. Had a more depressing ending than many of the Benny stories.

"The Rise of Theodore Roosevelt" and "100 years of solitude" One Hundred Years of Solitude is good. And quite odd.

"The Rise of Theodore Roosevelt" and "100 years of solitude" One Hundred Years of Solitude is good. And quite odd. Odd and good, yes. A rather novel way of telling general tales about the human condition, and perhaps saying more. Definitely one I'll be mulling over for a while. (If you or anyone enjoys historical biographies, this Roosevelt trilogy I'm working through is very well written and interesting. I'm flying along despite the rather substantial length).

Currently reading the late Eighth Doctor novel The Sleep of Reason. It's quite interesting not following the Doctor and his companions for most of the novel.

I'm reading Ten Little Aliens and I'm in the middle of the "choose your own" part. Very cool. Couldn't be done well on an e-reader or as an audiobook, though. I want to read all the the POVs.

I read it on an ereader. That was my favorite part of the book You just have to bookmark the page you're jumping from. When I read the Choose your own adventure books I would read every possible permutation.
