Finished this today and while I am still not a big fan of this format I was right it was easier for me to get into the second two stories because I was familiar with Adam & Jackie
With the Adam story I still couldn't completely follow the plot but I liked how his chatacrter was written. I don't necessarily think this episode redeems his character. In fact I think it shows signs of what he would end up doing. But I like how it showed he cared more about Rose probably than anything else. Otherwise you can see the seeds of his arrogance in this story. What he did was wrong but I don't think he would have done anything truly to hurt anyone. However my favorite scene didn't involve Adam at all. It was when we learned the Doctor waited for Rose all those years. Those little time travel moments are what I love about Who.
The final story with Jackie however was definitely my favorite of this set. It was a lot of fun and for once I didn't mind all the narration (because a lot of it was quite amusing) Camille Coduri was absolutely wonderful as Jackie. She's a riot but also has a lot of heart. Also I loved the word Glubby Glub.
Will I buy more of these Chronicles at the moment I am going to say no but I think it depends on what characters are involved. I think if the second voice is a character I know well I may be more inclined to buy these for the 10th and 11th Doctor. I do feel they are a bit too much like enhanced audio books though which personally isn't my favorite format .

Ok.....I am 1 & a half stories in now
Have to say it's really quite good, it's a companion chronicle just minus the companion, but has the bonus of having someone have a decent stab at the ninth doc voice.
Only slight problem is nicks voice is so familiar these days, you are half expecting the "stop don't move" to crop up. But as with everything nick does, he puts his heart and soul into making it the best he can, and for the most part he gets away with it this time.
If you like the companion chronicles format, that pretty much what you get here only for a new era doctor.
My only concern is I wish the other two boxes were for the ninth doc, his era is defiantly something I want to explore more.

I finished The Bleeding Heart. I'm willing to admit when I was wrong. Man, this was a good story! I completely agree with you muckypup, it is a Companion Chronicle for the Ninth Doctor and it's as good as the CCs ever were. This is The Doctor's (possible) first attempt at finding a companion after the Time War and it's riveting and heartbreaking. I'm also half way through The Window On The Moore. Looking forward to hearing the rest of this story an the rest of this set. Thanks for talking me into it everyone!

Wrapped up Retail Therapy just now
A couple months ago, when Camille Coduri was on the Big Finish podcast, I realized that while I was more or less indifferent to the character of Jackie Tyler, I was just captivated by Camille. Jackie was always defined by her relationship with Rose, and I found her a lot more interesting when she was out on her own interacting with other people.
I cracked up every time anyone said Glubby Glub. It’s just perfect. It gets funnier with each repetition.
The music was very well suited to the to the story.
Jackie gets some great lines: “I’m not gonna let you waggle your space stick at it.”
The description of the Glubby Glub being plugged into the TARIS “It was wired into the vast spiral of alien technology that dominated the control room” wasn’t something that would have worked in an audio play and I really liked how Goss contrasted the majesty of the TARDIS with Jackie’s quotidian life.
I couldn’t wait for the Doctor and Rose segments to be over with so we could be back to the Jackie parts. (2005 Josh would be so upset with me if he could read that.) I was enjoying it, but also wondering how this was different from the Adipose episode. I got my answer about forty minutes in. Very clever, Mister Goss, and very well played.
Despite his looks, Tycho had all the charm of a train toilet. Heh.
“Do you know what it’s like to be rude to people and get away with it?” I LOVE that line, because it shows how small and grubby his dreams are.
Very sensitive and poignant story.
Now I want a Jackie Tyler Short Trip! Big Finish, are you listening?

That would be amazing! I wouldn't mind if it was a ST for Nine or Ten; either would be great.

I'm listening to it now, and I logged on just to state how much I miss Jackie Tyler. Rose:"I tell you one thing, this Christmas, we're coming home." The Doctor: "Over my dead body." Ohhhhhhh man!

Ok you guys. I'm such a push-over. Done and bought. Well done all of you. You still all have some work to do to convince me I'm afraid Cheers Tony Ditto. I imagine I'll consider it if I run out of other BF to buy. Or if it goes on sale for really really cheap.

The Window on the Moor by Una McCormack
I just couldn't get into this one. The cast was perfectly fine and Nick Briggs is doing quite well as the narrator and doing a 9th Doctor impression, but I was just bored by the story, nothing made me care about it. 4/10.
One note in regards to 11th and 10th Doctor chronicles. I really hope that they can get Arthur Darvill and Bernard Cribbens to perform for their respective era's.

Jacqueline King's Sylvia Noble as well for the Tenth Doctor. She's a great character and IMO the best fleshed out of the companion mothers from that period.

That would be amazing! I wouldn't mind if it was a ST for Nine or Ten; either would be great. In that year where Rose was missing would be really insightful. The Tenth Doctor might be in the background, one of the random people imploring she keeps hoping that Rose is still alive. Of course giving Mickey a tough time would be perfect for the tone of that period as well. One of the Ninth Doctor comics had a post-Journey's End/End of Time Mickey encounter the Ninth Doctor, so an out of sync encounter wouldn't be out of place. Maybe Mickey's perspective, as he's fighting off murder accusations and there's this tall man who keeps popping up everywhere...

The Other Side by Scott Handcock
These Ninth Doctor chronicles are back on track. Again performances were all and good and the story wasn't half bad either. 8/10.
Retail Therapy by James Goss
Wow, This was really well done. Jackie was wonderfully played by Camille and the story really was able to pack a punch. 9/10.

Just got the set delivered today, not listened to any of the stories but the box looks beautiful. There's something so nice about seeing the ninth doctor finally on a sidebar 😀

I could never really decide how I felt about Nick's impression. It was good. Sometimes it sounded uncanny. But others it seemed like it was restricting his range, or a bit like Nine with a cold. Honestly, I'd prefer they just stick exactly to the Companion Chronicle format rather than this fusion. It's weird, because in Short Trips like Museum Piece or Forever Fallen with Nick as narrator, I practically remember those stories as if they were voiced by the actual actors. Maybe it's some kind of uncanny valley effect, where it's all so close to a full-cast audio that it makes all the parts that aren't quite there stick out more, and challenges my immersion.

Just listened to the first story The Bleeding Heart & thoroughly enjoyed it, Briggys does a great interpretation of Ecclestons Doctor & Cavan Scotts story was rip roaring fun.
My only slight issue is the story ended abruptly & no resolution of the peace talks on Galen.

I wonder if the problem is that people are over analysing it because they're unused to the format. It may not be the case, but it sounds as though a lot of people are listening in a different way than they would with a main range adventure, because they're trying to work out if they like this format.

I partially blame the trailer, which presented as a full-cast affair, since everyone seems to be going into this thinking of it as a recast, rather than the New Series Companion Chronicles format that it is.

If it t was more like the companion chronicles the characters of Adam & Jackie for example telling about their adventures with the Doctor I would have preferred it. I am the same with the Short Trips, I like when they are told in first person instead of 3rd person.
