Sadly, BBC 4's favourite rock star Brian Pern - the man who reminded us that the biggest charity single in history was 'Doctor in Distress' - has died, and two tributes to him are to be shown on Wednesday 29th March.
According to the Radio Times, Peter Davison will recall working with Brian Pern - "He has to be the worst actor we ever had in 'Doctor Who'".

One question. When was Brian Pern in Doctor Who? Can't remember. I think we saw a clip of it before, in the BBC's documentary series about him.

God, I remember the convention he came to... Now there was a Saturday night cabaret that couldn't be forgotten... no matter how hard you tried.

A friend of mine that lives down the road from me supplied the (BBC) Triffid prop for last year's series.

Drop the sonic device Drop... the sonic device Drop it.... Drop the sonic... device
Last night's DW bit was brilliant. Both Davison and Eccleston had me stitches in working with Pern.... RIP

I noticed they used more Radiophonic Workshop incidental music during some of the non-DW clips again, Tegan's theme if I'm not mistaken. Last series they even used Oak & Quill's theme from Fury From The Deep!
