Not seen a thread on this.
I see we have a time for our Doctor's appointment on Saturday 15th April.

And it's 50 minutes - not more than a few minutes longer than normal despite rumours to the contrary - according to the RT. Radio Times, rather than Restoration Team I should add.

Reasonable enough time-slot up against Take me Out and the 1st few minutes of BGT.

In the US it's airing at 9:00 followed by Class which I am hardly excited about anymore.
Can't wait for more Doctor Who though. Even with the Christmas special it feels too long.

I ended up rather liking Class.

Let's hope they stick to it. A consistent time slot is more important than the actual time (relatively), and that was a problem with the last series.

Good time, just a shame it clashes with BGT.

Let's hope they stick to it. A consistent time slot is more important than the actual time (relatively), and that was a problem with the last series. As long as it's on at roughly the same time each week, it's fine. I don't think people expect Saturday night TV timings to match the previous weeks.

We have it here in the States at 9 PM (EST). Class right after it at 10:15. (I guess they're throwing in a ton of commercials.)

One of the reasons weekday ratings are as high as they are is that shows often start either on the hour, or at half past the hour. That way, everyone knows what time a certain show is on. Clearly weekends are different, with shows lasting 50 minutes, 180 minutes etc. Whereas 7.20 is one of the best times Doctor Who has been scheduled, I loved it when it was on at 7pm. It was part of the advertising tag-line for the Eccleston series, as I remember - Doctor Who, BBC1, 7pm, Saturday. I wish we could return to that. Get the time cemented in the brains of the viewing public not addicted to Simon Cowell's latest circus.

Yeah, don't worry about 20 minutes here or there. it was when the show was on at half 8 that things got silly. Moffat and Capaldi publicly criticised that scheduling, as impossible as it was to avoid given Strictly being on the same night. Hopefully this season will see the decline arrested if not reversed, and 28 day consolidated figure rise which is really the one that matters not overnights regardless of what BBC-hating rags will tell you. Either way, I won't read too much into this year's successes or failures as a new Doctor, new showrunner and new companion (possibly) next year means there'll be, effectively, another soft-reboot in 2018 anyway.

I do think scheduling Doctor Who at 8pm did show a certain amount of confidence the BBC had in the show though.
