I think saying ATA Girl 2 was *just* commissioned for International Women's Day is doing a massive disservice (bordering on offensive) to the hard work of the team behind it considering it's been hinted at quite long before IWD 2020 and is a series that defines itself quite more than just being "A female-led piece" when you consider the stories that's told within and received lots of attention. By all indications The Human Frontier too has been receiving good sales and from what I've seen has been receiving good reviews from multiple platforms, by many people. But fiddlesticks to Briggs, eh. Christ the cynicsm of this forum is I need to stop swearing maddening at times. I'm really not trying to be cynical or beat down ATA Girl. I'm sorry if I used the wrong word to express what I meant. And my initial post was just a joke. I love Briggs and all his work. Even Energy of the Daleks. (again, a joke)

I am pretty sure that Scott Handcock would love to have done another series or three! But i guess it is up to the powers that be in BF towers!!

A brand-new series of the critically acclaimed full-cast audio drama of space exploration is now available to pre-order, due for release in August 2021. (14 months away!)
The Human Frontier will once again comprise four parts for its second series, as follows:
Part 1 - Dendrick Part 2 - Planet 5 Part 3 - Human War Part 4 - Cataclysm
The Human Frontier series one is also available to own as a digital download exclusively from the Big Finish website, priced at just £16.99. Big Finish listeners can save money by ordering series one and two together as a bundle for just £32.
For more information simply follow the link.
:-)
Wasn't this by-and-large considered the worst of the BF Originals? Of course Nick is going to greenlight his vanity project over a second Shilling and Sixpence or a new "History Makers" series in the vein of Cicero.

I only listened to the first episode. Found it pretty boring & unoriginal. Oh well what Briggs wants Briggs gets.

Of course Nick is going to greenlight his vanity project over a second Shilling and Sixpence or a new "History Makers" series in the vein of Cicero. Where are you getting this info that it's considered the worst? Sales wise, it seems to be going well. Reviews wise it has higher reviews/averages than multiple other BF: Originals on a variety of sites (being only beaten generally by ATA Girl and Transference, one of which got a sequel and the other well....it's a bit difficult to do a sequel with). Even on this forum the positive reviews are outweighed by the negatives. So maybe it was considered by SOME people to be the worst, but then it seems to be considered by more that....it isn't. Also you realise that Briggs isn't the only producer at Big Finish. Jason Haigh-Ellery also would've had to approve it, and think it's worthy enough to keep pursuing.

For all I saw, The Human Frontier probably had the most tepid response of any of the first wave of originals. ATA Girl had universal praise, Cicero had a spectacular response, Jeremiah Bourne had a good response, Shilling and Sixpence had spectacular response, Blind Terror and Transference had universal praise. I think that Human Frontier (while fine) had the most "meh" response amongst the fans.
