Not a bad conclusion, dark, gritty with Capaldi & Bleach giving superb performances, the Doctor tricking Davros, making him believe he was compassionate was a nice twist while the latter had me convinced Davros was on the verge of redemption even though i knew this was unlikely, Missy & Daleks obviously to appear in the final episode, no doubt she has a trick up her sleeve & i doubt it's the last we've seen of Davros.
Possible Future Story Arc's
So Master/Missy has a daughter?
Why Did the Doctor leave Gallifrey it's seemingly becoming quite a conspiracy arc.
Did Davros survive?

I never thought Davros was redeemed and wanted to see the sun one last time... the most unlikely thing I could ever imagine Davros caring about! So it was great to see the cunning manipulatve Davros that we know and love show his true colours.
I enjoyed this episode and while I knew Clara wasn't really dead, I was hoping she'd be left inside the Dalek, which is where we first saw her. Missy and her mad schemes stole the show once again... what a lunatic! I'm glad she's not my Mother or Aunt, or any relation even! Capaldi was great once again too. So two strong - but bonkers - episodes to start off Season 9. Great stuff.
Steven Moffat also gets plus points from me for no humpback Daleks!

Yeah I enjoyed it. I admit I was afraid they were trying to redeem Davros but thankfully that was not the case and the Doctor knew it too so lots of great bluffs in this one. Nice Davros would never work for me.
I also liked Missy who was charming but also evil. And of course we will see more of her.
And the parts with Clara as the Dalek were also really good (it reminded me of the original Clara's first appearance)

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

Great conclusion. I really enjoyed the vibe between Missy and Clara, with Clara slowly warming to Missy only to have the rug pulled out from under her. It nicely mirrored the experience of the Doctor with Davros. The idea of the "hybrid" was a bit silly but I'd be prepared to see how it pans out in future episodes. The daleks in the sewers was a great twist, as was the stuff about dalek language. Not sure how I feel about "Sonic Sunnies" but the Doctor has lost his screwdriver before.
Next week looks interesting.

Only thing I'd have altered would've been a new Dalek - Thal war & Davros needing the Doctor's timelord energy to upgrade the Daleks because the Thals are winning the war, i think that would've added more depth & drama to the story but hey that's just my opinion.

I'd argue that th Doctor wasn't faking it, he genuinely came because Davros asked, and he genuinely wanted him to see a sunrise because he asked. As he said, he'd sincerely hoped that compassion would be the death of him. But he's the Doctor, and he's Davros. He fully expected betrayal, but the Doctor always hopes. He always (except with Daleks) expects the best, that's why he gets grumpy and rude - expectations once again ruined by monsters.
The real question is "how much of what Davros said was the truth?"

I'm still not sold on Time Lord's changing gender, but seriously... if you were going to cast a woman as the master, Michelle is absolutely perfect!
I also really liked getting to see the Master trying to save the Doctor and a companion willingly working with the bad guy.

A great conclusion to the story. Beautifully played between Capaldi and Bleach. "The Good Doctor" line had me laughing with them. Missy and Clara were a great double team. The Master/Missy had a daughter eh? interesting. Maybe she married the Doctors son, making the Master Susan's grandfather (yes i know i'm taking it too far but i cant resist it)

Well, not to be too glum about it, but the wife and I were really wincing and cringing during the extended drama bit between the Doctor and Davros. (Come on now, Davros crying? DAVROS ?! When you read that.... imagine Colin Baker screaming "DAVROS?!?!?" in incredulity). I was greatly relieved when it turned out that each was trying to fool the other.
The main thing that's bugging me is that the Doctor's plan doesn't make any sense to me. I hope that this ties into something later in the series - and it probably will because that's the way Moffatt has structured his arcs - because it would otherwise be the single dumbest plan he's hatched. Maybe that's explained by the fact that he hatched it while going without sleep for three weeks.
My interpretation: he learns that Davros has invited him over for tea. He fully expects a trap but maybe there's some 'compassion' motivation. Either way, he decided he wants backup beyond Clara. He's aware that Missy now wants to be a friend instead of a frenemy, so, he has the confession dial delivered to her to make sure he's got her attention. They meet up, Saarf shows up before any planning can happen. So, they all end up being taken there and he chats with Davros. Each try to fool the other. Then we get to the part that makes no sense to me: he deliberately fires a possibly unknown, possibly uncontrollable, amount of regeneration energy into the Daleks, with the purpose of causing the sewer Daleks to regenerate and attack those in the city. The entire plan then hinges on Missy or Clara to show up in the nick of time...
But there are still all those Daleks flying around outside the city.
There are still fleets of Daleks suitable for use in wars elsewhere (Into The Dalek) or to attack planets (Time of the Doctor), etc. There's no reason to think that since those events, the only Daleks remaining are those in that one city on the one planet of rebuilt Skaro. He's basically killing some Daleks in one of their cities and causing it some structural damage, then barely escaping.
There's got to be more to come of this because I'm finding it hard to swallow. One of the shakiest and riskiest plans yet, with seemingly very minimal payoff in the grand scheme of things.

So watching these again last night and it occurs to me that the only bad thing about Michelle Gomez as Missy/The Master is she can never play The Doctor now. And that does make me a little sad because she is glorious.

As most if not all of us do when the new series is around the corner I've been rewatching all of Peter's past episodes... Just finished rewatching The Witches Familiar, and something that I completely missed jumped out at me.
Nearing the end of the episode, Missy is running and ends up surrounded by Daleks once again TRAPPED!!! Or is she' 😏 Her line being "You know what? I've just had a very clever idea" -- Cut to the Doctor on Skaro talking once again with the young Davros. Davros asks if the Doctor is going to save him which in turn the Doctor replies by saying "No I'm going to save my Firend" I didn't really pay much attention to this line before, thinking he clearly just meant Clara. But what if he was meaning Missy, hoping that with the Daleks now showing signs of mercy that some how she'd live to fight another day...

TommyP I took that last bit differently: after the Dalek casing allows Clara to say "mercy," he realizes that the only reason it had the concept is because he always did (in his own near-future) go back to save young Davros, so therefore he goes back to save young Davros and ensures that events play out the same way. If it meant that Missy was saved too, then so be it, but he had to do it because that's the way it always happened. Because of the linear but-not-linear way the show treats time travel, he's always got to ask himself "if I do this thing, do I change events. Or, did I always (in my future) do this thing, so must I do it to make things stay the same?" He's always got to work out where his timeline is intersecting the objective universal timeline. What I found odd is that the Doctor found it odd that the Dalek had a concept of mercy. They've always had the concept of mercy, they just have disdain for it unless it can be used cynically to their advantage. They keep a slave alive rather than work it to death if they need the slave to keep working. They have regularly used the Doctor's own mercy/compassion against him. They have the concepts allright, they just don't have any respect for the concepts beyond what can be gained by them.
