So we've done plenty of discussion on Sherlock, BF Holmes and then just regular Holmes, so why not talk about the CBS series, with Johnny Lee Miller.

Another show where I watched the first 2 seasons and then stopped. There was nothing wrong with the show, I just got bored by it. I do love Johnny Lee Miller and thought he did a great job, but as the show went on I thought it got less Sherlock Holmes-ish and became more of a general crime procedural with a quirky character. And I was never sold on Lucy Lu as Watson. I never got the feeling that she ever really liked Sherlock and definitely didn't feel as if they were best friends. I never had the feeling that she needed Holmes as much as Holmes needed her, and I do like it when that dynamic is there as an undercurrent in the relationship.

Initially, I was skeptical about Liu, but I thought she did well and I think she works with Miller and has that dynamic. Plus, I felt it was refreshing to see a version fo Watson that wasn't played up to be such a dopey foil for Holmes. I actually dug the mentor element.

Despite not seeing it regularly since partway through series 2 (I never really found the time to watch it), but I think 'Elementary' might be my favourite 'version' of Holmes...
