Hey everyone,
If Kate had never been transformed into a vampire an if she and Frankie had lived through the events of Bloodlust, do you think their relationship would have worked out?
For me, I'm not sure. I can see their relationship helping Kate get her life back on track and providing her with some form of stability, alongside her ties with the other surrivors, but long-term, I think there both too different, despite their efforts to make it work. I could see Caroyln or David having a word with Roger and him extending his influence in helping her get a job elsewhere as a proper journalist again at a proffessional newspaper elsewhere in recopence for her involvement in saving his family and the Beyond The Grave cover up.
Frankie would be sad, but understanding and happy to see Kate happy and fufilled. Kate leaves Collinsport, out of darkness and Frankie is left believing he'll never find love again.
He's wrong of course.....

I think maybe lots of things could have happened - they might even have sort of kept on the way they were going with Frankie seemingly having little baggage that we know of and Kate seemingly having lots of it, although that might have been one of the less interesting possibilities to just have them trudge along. I could sort of see Kate hitting rock bottom and finding a turning point, maybe she's teetering drunkenly on the cliffs at Widow's Hill when Jessica or Susan pull her back and give her a "You think your life is rubbish?" talk. I could as easily see them deciding they're having too hard a time making it work and deciding to go separate ways, and I much like the Collins Meddling Intervention angle you proposed, it's very Dark Shadows.

It's Dark Shadows. Very rarely does a romantic relationship escape unscathed. We've seen just not being interested in taking things to the next level, the little thing of being a supernatural creature with a desire to off ones offspring, being put on a plane crash, the angry ex hexing events, werewolf curses, time travel related identity crises, the insane ex escaping being locked up as love is declared to another, being a painting, feeling like a woman from the previous century, getting caught up in a cult and many more. In short, it's a soap opera. A stable and happy relationship is counterproductive to the format.

Collinsport - where no one stays dead, and no one lives happily ever after?
Yeah, that does sound a bit like the very place...

Collinsport - where no one stays dead, and no one lives happily ever after? Yeah, that does sound a bit like the very place... At least Cyrus and Sabrina are still together. However with the next set of short stories placing them in Collinsport and the forces they've got mighty pissed off at them, it could all be up in the air. There's Maggie and Joe as well, so they'd better stay as far away from Collinsport as possible. Quentin and Lela seem to have survived at least a year without incident I think Harry and Cody are safe though. However it's only a matter of time before the other shoe drops.

Although we do know that there must trouble of some kind ahead somewhen... That's soap opera standard. Maggie and Jo had a real shot, but he got mind controlled by Vampire!Angelique and witnessed Chris transforming into a wolfman. Vicki was engaged to Burke Devlin and his plane crashed in the Amazon. Quentin almost went to New York with Amanda but Charles Delaware Tate stole his portrait and Angelique threatened Amanda. The only ones on the TV show to get away with their love were the time displaced Vicki and Peter, and that's because they left the state entirely (there is that unpopular Leviathan retcon, but their claim about Josette was all a bluff so why not Vicki?).

No I meant we *SPECIFICALLY* know there must trouble of some kind ahead somewhen for those two... Not just that it's a drama and dramatic things are bound to happen.

I would like to see them try to make a go of things, despite the obstacles (being dead and a vampire and all).
