2 stories in and digging this. Not got an issue with Eve and John being bit-playrers...at least not when Mr Colchester is so awesome. I'm choosing to believe Gwen Cooper is with her American cousin Dale in the red room near Twin Peaks until told otherwise, hence the "new" Gwen....Mrs C.

Still working my way through this but I am laughing so hard at this perfect line "You said it yourself he's cocky. Enormously so"

On Superiority Complex at the moment. Haven't read any other posts as I want to avoid spoilers. One question about this episode - Ro-Jedda wants the Mayor to do something about the murders in the hotel and yet the hotel is supposed to have exclusively alien guests and it doesn't seem like she is enabling the Mayor (or any humans) to investigate anything. Just how far does she think he could get without any access?
I wonder how many loose ends there will be after this Part 1.

Finished Superiority Complex and we are left with a lot in the air, but Orr has joined the Torchwood team; we don't know what's really going on with Gwen; Tyler is trying to survive, but we don't know how he is really going to do it; and Ro-Jedda is about to make a big mess.
With all of these people protesting at the hotel and then both aliens and humans being killed - a lot on cellphone presumably, how is Ro-Jedda going to keep a lid on this? Are the humans in Cardiff going to be essentially hostages? Will some of the aliens want to leave Earth now? How soon until someone ask about the Mayor's illness?
I just hope Ro-Jedda meets a fitting end by the time we are through with the three parts (if we aren't surprised by her dying sooner).

In her view, it is the mayor's responsibility to keep all the humans in line. Even if he can't send investigators to the hotel, he should still know what all the humans are doing.

It's too early to tell much about NG as we don't know her full motivations. Did I miss the actual possession of Gwen or is that still a mystery? I'm curious about how they will reveal the truth, plus how everyone will react. Is NG going to be a permanent replacement for Gwen? That could be a tough sell for Jack & Rhys (obviously). The ending of Episode 2 was an utter gut punch. On the cover it looks like Ng is somewhat mirroring Gwen's pose. That makes for a nice subtlety that doesn't stand out until after you've realized the trick. [/spoilers]
Yeah, I was confused about that, too. I keep feeling like I was missing something that I should have caught. Great set of stories. Keeping them on my iPod for a re-listen before the next set comes out.

Aliens & Sex & Chips & Gravy
This is excellent. Captures perfectly the awfulness of a hen night before things become suitably grotesque and frightening. Mr Colchester continues to delight with some terrific lines ("Knackers deep in some valley boy...' is a favourite, as is his reaction to Harkness 'jogging'), and the gradual bringing to the fore of 'Gwen Cooper' is expertly handled before the curious reveal. Sophie Colquhoun is very good indeed as spoilt alien Madrigal, veering from obnxious to other-worldly to child-like to quite funny, with ease. Fast paced and full of genuinely witty lines, I'm loving this series. Finally a Torchwood fan, 6 years after the show ended on TV.

So I think Barrowman is getting better at audio, Colchester is just a fantastic character and James Goss is the preeminent Torchwood writer. When is the next one again?

Oh and I felt like Orr is the most Russell T. Davies-like character executed in the most Big Finish-like kind of way.

Enjoyable but I do prefer the main torchwood range...
Main torchwood range...
My god... I never thought I'd use those words.

What did everyone think of the video trailer? Honestly BF are never that great at trailers and I don't think the dodgy CGI helped to win over new listeners.
People are hungry for new Torchwood, BF needed to push Barrowman and Myles in the marketing on FB and Youtube more.

A fun first box set. Orr is a fascinating alien character and I am intrigued what happened to Gwen. And well played that they didn't tell us it wasn't Gwen at first. I liked how I was questioning if it was Gwen or not and why she sounded so different.
Tyler Steele and Alt Gwen are also interesting characters. I don't really have a clear reading on them yet. Like because Alt Gwen took Gwen over and killed Gwen's mother you would think she is evil but something about her makes me think she's not entirely bad. I don't know I am probably reading this completely wrong. But I like that there is a bit of mystery here. Same with Tyler as he obviously isn't someone that is trustworthy and yet I don't dislike him.

Sorry for the Budget BF must have for them I think the video trailers are pretty darn good.
And some of the TW audience will seemly never switch to audio despite the fact cast members have now said "Audio's the only way they'd get new TW for the foreseeable"
