I'd quite like a special two disc Classic Companions, New Masters release. How would Jo Grant/Jones fare against the Yana Master? And what about Ace against the Saxon Master? I mean I'm all for classic companions meeting New Masters but I don't think a box set of this premise would work. I could be wrong but I think with the whole point of the Master being the same man in every incarnation, albeit with slightly different personality traits, although not as extensive as the Doctor, I wouldn't see that working nothing would be different really would it? I disagree. Each Master has a different personality, even if it's more subtle than with different incarnations of The Doctor. Certainly Simm's Master is nothing like Degaldo's.

Little hint from the week that was News Piece Next week we have some further Doctor Who releases and announcements. Something is coming, from our past and our future…. Regards mark687 That sounds either Multi-Doctor or Multi-Master to me. It could also be a hint at John Simm given he would be coming from our past (Utopia/The Sound of Drums/Last of the Time Lords, The End of Time) and our future (World Enough And Time/The Doctor Falls). More importantly it's almost a quote from End of Time.

Not an exact quote, but dalekbuster523finish is right: It is similar to a quote from the Ood Elder: It could be John Simm, if it's meant to relate to the 10th Anniversary of Utopia and the announcement needs to be coordinated with the BBC (he's coming back soon after all - maybe it's a story that leads from The End of Time to his Series 10 appearance - that would be unprecedented and very exciting). In the same way, it could be a Jacobi story, as a sort of "Month of the Master" thing, but it seems less likely to be hyped/coordinated/kept under wraps.

If its Matt Smith, I'm doing the Drunk Giraffe with delight. Between that and the Batusi dad dancing has never been cooler.

It'd be cool if it was John Simm reprising his role for BF, but if it was Matt Smith returning as Eleven, I'd be unbelievably happy.

And depending what happens in the next few episodes of S10 there is a potential Big Finish gap there in terms of what happens before he becomes Missy. Which would explain the need for coordination with the BBC.

Jacobi in the time war? He could meet river song? I'd like to see Derek Jacobi's Master meet Nyssa. That would be interesting.

If it is indeed a post End of Time Simm, what range do you guys reckon the release would be part of? A new one? Gallifrey? That one could be interesting.

if it is what we think it is i'd rather have Classic Docs VS him then just him on his own.

Regards mark687 The Sound of Drums/Last of the Time Lords seems to be the first time the Doctor has met the Saxon incarnation though. Actually I think there's recognition when Doctor hears the voice (there's no reason to my mind that he doesn't try something else before the resurrection arc to fully restore himself which earlier doctors foil and he could have a Morphic Field ring which covers why Doctor doesn't fully remember him but it gets destroyed in the last story and it was holding him together so he has to rough it causes everyone recognizes him again in a rapidly decaying body.

I think Doctor Who has included more than enough mind wiping devices to make that not a problem. It might well be Simm, but then maybe we're barking up the wrong tree entirely... Ah the joys of speculation!

Ah the joys of speculation! True, but I've seen so many complaints about putting River Song with Classic Doctors in her own box set that I can imagine Big Finish being reluctant to use mind wipes so that the Simm Master can meet the Sixth Doctor (for example).
