Beneath the Viscoid. {Spoiler} Good opener. Jacobi's Master is pure evil, the final scene is one of the Master's coldest moments.

You know you have a problem when you get excited at the prospect of seeing the episode covers of a Big Finish release.
Sir Derek Jacobi has only just started talking and I'm already waiting for volume 2. Yes, there must be one! I want. I need.
See you all at the first annual Big Finish Addict Anonymous meeting.

I kind of want remixes of the theme tune that match the style of each Doctor Who theme by era...

Just finished Beneath the Viscoid.
As other people have said, the title music was great.
The plot was fairly straightforward, and that's exactly what I want in a first installment. It allows us to get accustomed to the concept.
He seemed to channel a little bit of Beevers in his delivery, but it might just be that they are both drawing from the same well in their portrayal.
Like Dalek Empire and Cyberman, this is a great showcase for a villain. He's got the narrative on his side for this and he's not doomed to fail as he is when he goes up against the Doctor.
Looking forward to listening to the second story next!

That's a really good point! Releases like this, or Mastermind, or the upcoming I am The Master, devoid of The Doctor, and with The Master free to wreak havoc in an atmosphere where his rival isn't present are a great way to show off the character

I actually felt like a lot of the delivery was very Alex Macqueen. I'm wondering if BF asked Jacobi to listen to some Macqueen!Master audios. Not that I think they did - it seems outlandish - it's just that it feel like there were a great number of similar vocal mannerisms there.

I would imagine they would have perhaps suggested some Master stories, both visual and audible, to peruse through as research. I do agree that he seems more MacQueen than Beevers (but is of course distinctly Jacobi )
