Not wanting to disclose too much about my age online (just me being paranoid)...but safe to say I'm probably in that youngest 5, and safe to say you're not the youngest member... I hate to burst your bubble but I’m a good year off seeing 20 😜 Okay guys, now you're making me feel old Seriously though, I prefixed with "as far as I'm aware" I wasn't aware that there were many people around my age on here - it's kind of a nice feeling to know that I'm not an 'odd one out' for having an interest in audio drama for my age bracket I'm not much older than you *trying to cheer myself up*

It often annoys me seeing the reactions on Facebook or youtube etc to new BF releases ''Is this on TV?'' ''What's a Big Finish?'' ''I was excited until I realised it was audio'' etc, I mean if these people are on the internet already is it really that much effort to open a new tab and do a quick google search? If they are fans of TV Dr Who they should realise the BBC can barely afford to make a series a year as it is, let alone spinoff series's, in some ways I prefer the format and intimacy of BF's audioplays over the TV series and they don't have the budget limitations of the TV series, it's a shame so many write off audio drama before getting it a chance... I could understand people less accustomed to the idea of radio dramas confusing Big Finish with the kind of audiobooks my wife listens to (usually read by one reader very slowly so they fill up 8 discs), I could understand not Googling something because you just didn't dream it was out there (this is how I arrived years late for the party with Big Finish Dark Shadows), and I could understand being somewhat attached to the medium you associate with a beloved series... Beyond that though I really don't understand any lukewarm responses to something full cast, starring original cast, carefully crafted by people with genuine respect and affection for the particular series and the hindsight at their disposal to often make something even better than the original. I remain completely mystified by people who react to that as if it's somehow not THE genuine article, and that holds true across the ranges. Somehow it just plain seems wrong for even bigger fans of Dark Shadows or Torchwood or anything else than I am, to be so seemingly unmoved by the absolutely fantastic cast lists that Big Finish has miraculously assembled. Meanwhile, I could really only get away with watching TV all day outside of convalesce, but I can listen to audio most of the time because I generally only need my ears and a modest amount of focus - so the audio medium has not only made it possible for these things to exist in the first place, it's also made it possible for me to have the chance to enjoy them. Audios are something which I can listen to on commute (which is just about the daily time I get) so they get an edge over TV or movies. And the main advantage is no strain on the eyes. That's something very important as after a 10+ hour day work with laptops, it's not good to stare at computer or TV screens again. My mum loves stories but doesn't prefer audios as she is uncomfortable with headphones and without headphones, she is a bit low on hearing so tends to miss out on dialogues. She feels bad she misses out

I may wait until the reviews are out for this.
Didn't think much of the character or episode, but, it is Big Finish after all...

Just a few more random thoughts...
I assume she will have a spaceship, so I wonder if she will call it “The Noble”?
I wonder if she will get referred to as “the Junior Doctor”? Would she consider herself in training. Trying to live up to her own DNA.
It is a shame in a way that her companion isn’t a previous companion of the Doctor. Someone she could learn more about him from....perhaps she will meet up with Klein and Will Arrowsmith....however their is a cliffhanger with The Seventh Doctor to get resolved first.

It doesn't matter how excellent the cast is, it's still a licensed product that costs money and not "the real deal" on their television for free. I can understand most peoples' lack of enthusiasm, even if I don't agree with it.

Perhaps - but all we do know is he asked for her to be reprieved at the script stage so he could bring her in then never used her....in 6 series. I've always thought he liked the notion, the concept, but what ended up on screen isn't something he was then too fussed about bringing back so just moved on. Slightly late to the party on this, but I think from later interviews with Moffat it’s clear that one bit of that (‘so he could bring her back’) is inaccurate. Basically (and I may be getting exact details wrong, but this is the gist, I think) - RTD said that Moffat read the script and suggested they shouldn’t kill her. Fandom leapt to the assumption that this was because he wanted to bring her back, but Moffat later clarified that it was simply because he thought the audience would expect her to die and it was therefore better to surprise them and go the other way.

I'm not sure Moffat even suggested they shouldn't kill her. My recollection is that he read the script and made some comment to RTD that he seemed to have a habit of introducing interesting characters then killing them off, and that was what led RTD to have a change of heart. When Moffat learnt that he was the reason for Jenny's reprieve he was very surprised, IIRC.
But for whatever reason, whatever he did say somehow got conflated by fandom into "he specifically asked RTD not to kill her off because he wanted to use her again".

Pre-ordered. I wasn't sure about this one at first, but once we had more details I started getting more interested.

Wow, never heard of that rather off the cuff remark.

That remark seemed rather innocuous at the time, it's a shame she took it to heart. But hey ho, Big Finish are happy to step in.

Wow, never heard of that rather off the cuff remark. Nor me. I don't think a private conversation between Steven Moffat and RTD about Jenny's fate should necessarily dictate her 'death' - well, it was a private conversation; if Georgia hadn't mentioned it, I doubt we'd be any the wiser, or Jenny any the dead-er! Either way, it's academic I suppose, with the upcoming series of audios.

Even so, probable jokey references still shouldn't dictate the official fate of a character, I think.

Titan comics righted that wrong first lol Did they, though? Lost Dimension was released first, but as I recall the Doctor's Daughter was either announced or all-but-announced by that time and I assume Big Finish has a much longer pre-production.
