That episode, for giving us quite a mammoth bit of canon, just doesn't seem to have resonated terribly much. Even the show itself seems to have ignored that it ever happened, all the odder since Moffat asked RTD not to kill Jenny off. Maybe he liked the idea and not the execution so didn't bother revisiting it as he might have planned to. Scary to think the ep is coming up for a decade old

The amount of people yesterday in my local comic shop I had to explain that she wasn't appearing in the New Series, she's doing audio adventures lol It often annoys me seeing the reactions on Facebook or youtube etc to new BF releases ''Is this on TV?'' ''What's a Big Finish?'' ''I was excited until I realised it was audio'' etc, I mean if these people are on the internet already is it really that much effort to open a new tab and do a quick google search? If they are fans of TV Dr Who they should realise the BBC can barely afford to make a series a year as it is, let alone spinoff series's, in some ways I prefer the format and intimacy of BF's audioplays over the TV series and they don't have the budget limitations of the TV series, it's a shame so many write off audio drama before getting it a chance...

Scary for me to realise I'm now older than Georgia Moffet was when she filmed that episode, and nearly twice as old as I was when ''Rose'' first aired.

Perhaps - but all we do know is he asked for her to be reprieved at the script stage so he could bring her in then never used her....in 6 series. I've always thought he liked the notion, the concept, but what ended up on screen isn't something he was then too fussed about bringing back so just moved on.

Conversely, though, not all BF listeners read the novels and even fewer the comics. Wouldn't be the first time I've read a BF fan write off Titan's work as "just" a comic book.

Fair point, each format has its own fans and good/bad points, it's just a shame so many Who fans take such a narrow view of a series that is based around continual change.. I'd like to read the comics and more of the novels, but my leisure funds only stretch so far, I have to be in the right mood to listen to an audioplay, likewise for reading a book...

After much thought - and an unexpected paycheck - I decided to preorder this set. I'm curious to see what Big Finish does with Jenny and there's a pretty good precedent to say it'll be brilliant.

Infact audio releases excite me more than TV these days..

Tell me about it. I'm not too far from being three times my age! And I’m even older than you *goes off to find some age defying serum* I could be wrong, but (as far as I'm aware) I believe I may be the youngest member on the forum (I turn 20 next month). If not, I'll be in the youngest five. (Not trying to make anyone jealous Believe me, if I had the choice, I'd strongly consider having being born in the late 50's so I could remember all the missing Who stories from the 60's )

What, millennials complain about their age more than any other generation? Not in my experience.

I could understand people less accustomed to the idea of radio dramas confusing Big Finish with the kind of audiobooks my wife listens to (usually read by one reader very slowly so they fill up 8 discs), I could understand not Googling something because you just didn't dream it was out there (this is how I arrived years late for the party with Big Finish Dark Shadows), and I could understand being somewhat attached to the medium you associate with a beloved series... Beyond that though I really don't understand any lukewarm responses to something full cast, starring original cast, carefully crafted by people with genuine respect and affection for the particular series and the hindsight at their disposal to often make something even better than the original. I remain completely mystified by people who react to that as if it's somehow not THE genuine article, and that holds true across the ranges. Somehow it just plain seems wrong for even bigger fans of Dark Shadows or Torchwood or anything else than I am, to be so seemingly unmoved by the absolutely fantastic cast lists that Big Finish has miraculously assembled. Meanwhile, I could really only get away with watching TV all day outside of convalesce, but I can listen to audio most of the time because I generally only need my ears and a modest amount of focus - so the audio medium has not only made it possible for these things to exist in the first place, it's also made it possible for me to have the chance to enjoy them.
