I've never done Companion Chronicles before. Should I take the plunge and take advantage of the sale? What stories do I absolutely have to listen to? - The Sara Kingdom trilogy (Home Truths, The Drowned World, The Guardian of the Solar System)
- The Oliver Harper trilogy (The Perpetual Bond, The Cold Equations, The First Wave)
- Zoe and the Company (Echoes of Grey, The Memory Cheats, The Uncertainty Principle, Second Chances)
- Peri and the Piscon Paradox
- The Blue Tooth
- The Beautiful People
- Old Soldiers (read by Nick Courtney)
- Solitaire
- Tales from the Vault and Mastermind
- The Scorchies (if you like musicals)
There are several that connect to Main Range stories: - The Prisoner's Dilemma (the first story chronologically for the character of Zara from Key 2 Time)
- The Darkening Eye (features the Dar Traders from The Death Collectors)
- Night's Black Agents (follows on from City of Spires and leads into The Wreck of the Titan)
- Project: Nirvana (ties into the Black TARDIS arc, requires Black and White for full context)
The first season is fine, but you can tell they're still working out the teething problems with the format in terms of the writing. It's easier to say what not to listen to. The Time Vampire and The Child are Nigel Fairs at his most style over substance, and Beyond the Ultimate Adventure is just plain inferior to the range as a whole, not just The Ultimate Adventure.
The storyline started in The War to End All Wars continues and is resolved in The Founding Fathers and The Locked Room from The First Doctor Volume 1.

That's a pretty comprehensive list. Thanks for the compilation I really love stories that make you feel uncomfortable and make an impact.. and you keep thinking about it for hours later..i know it sounds strange though

No I haven't. I've done Picture of Dorian Gray which I didn't like much, so didn't continue from there. will give this a try.

The Oliver Harper / Steven Trilogy - 'The Perpetual Bond' and 'The Cold Equations' are superb, 'The First Wave' is very good. Peter Purves is wonderful (always) as is Tom Allen as Oliver. A range highlight for me.

Gave this sale a miss, I've still got quite a bit of BF to catch up on, and have had an expensive month on various things.
Maybe next year...

He has been so busy with Big Finish that it is easy to forget that before Tom Baker came on board these Companion Chronicles were the only way to get new 4th Doctor adventures.
