Is all this Other, Loom nonsense canon? Never heard it mentioned on telly. Depends on your views on Doctor Who canon. Officially there is no canon. It's a Haiku: The canon is There is no canon.

Am I the only one that has no problem with Susan? I don't think anyone here has said they have a problem with Susan. Just that there are some unanswered questions with her character and her place in the current mythos.

And for me Looms don't count until we see them in an episode of Doctor Who on TV...

Let the BBC or Big Finish work the Looms in and then I will at that point have to factor the Looms into the actual mythos.

Doesn't this all come down to whether you think the Doctor was romantic or not.
Did he have sex?

Is all this Other, Loom nonsense canon? Never heard it mentioned on telly. Why the need to be disparaging about it? It's as canon as you want it to be, for you. Some say, yes, some say no, some say maybe. Who is to say who is definitely correct? I'm not fond of it myself, but disparaging others about it is just rude. This isn't that type of forum.

Excuse me, but the thread title says there is a problem with Susan. No, the thread title refers to the problem of Susan. It isn't quite the same. The original post then states Susan is problematic. You're splitting hairs I think. Clearly some people do think there's a problem, although I personally don't. There's a mystery there certainly but not a problem.

Clearly some people do think there's a problem, although I personally don't. There's a mystery there certainly but not a problem. Me personally, I'm happy to maintain the mystery. I rather like Susan and Big Finish have done something rather splendid with her character development after the Dalek occupation. Given what she had to do to stop her grandfather though, I'm under the impression that she might've been returned to Gallifrey or seconded into the CIA as an agent in exchange for their help. We know that renegades don't tend to be given the best treatment, particularly when they need to call for help. The Zenobia station is implied in one story (I can't remember which one) to have been used for a series of trials conducted with the Valeyard as prosecutor with the Doctor's being the latest before it was shut down. The operation might've been reactivated come Trial of the Valeyard. Where ...To the Death finished leaves Susan's future looks a bit... troubling.

I intended the thread title as a riff on the Neil Gaiman story of the same name, which was a comment on Susan Pevensie's life after Narnia. I don't have a problem with the character of Susan herself; I just thought it would be an interesting topic to discuss how she fits in with a mythos that evolved after she moved on.

Was unaware of Neil Gaiman's book, but I've always disliked what happened to Susan Pevensie and as I have got older and able to understand the issue Lewis was talking about the more annoyed I am by what he did.

Yes, he didn't like the kids growing up.
