Hey everyone,
What do you think will happen in season three of Supergirl?
1) I think Clark is going to be incapicated and out-of-action for most, adding to the pressure Kara is under. While I can see Clark letting Kara have her own space, I can't see him letting her blow up her entire life. 2) I think given the nature of Kara's arc this series, I think we're going to meet Lois Lane this series. I could see Kara in college - reliasing how her cousin doesn't have much - and being a big influence in him pursuring Lois as Clark Kent. ("Your parents would want you to be happy, Kal-El.") If there's anything good Supergirl can take from the DC Extended Universe, it's having this version of Lois figuring out Superman's identity and there be actual fallout from this, informing Kara's present in how she deals with those closest to her. 3) I think it's inevitable that we'll be seeing Lex Luthor this season, albeit in limited capacity. I don't think Lena's story can really progress further without her confronting him and accepting that there are good people in her life that support her and leaving the Luthor legacy behind her. It's Kara story and I don't think he'll be a Big Bad, but defiantly at play in Lena's arc. Either have Lena try to reform him - Lillian damaged them both - or him seemingly reformed, for that inevitable heartbreak when he leaves the stage for his place in the Superman mythos.

Things I would like to happen
1) No Mon-El. Sorry, I know he has his fans, but I just didn't believe Kara would be intrested in him for a second. Help him deal with the trauma of losing his planet and steer him in the right direction? Yes. Kara's twenty-four with a history of prior and a set career track - there's no way she's would be intrested in or want the baggage of a bad boy. And Mon-El was kind of the worst (saving the day to impress Kara). I can't see our girl taking him back after the revelation that he lied to her. Yes, Hera screwed him up, but that little reveal was too late in the game for me. I don't mind an episode or two after Kara comes out of the hole she's currently in which provides closure, but Kara and Mon-El sent all the wrong messages for this show.
2) If Calista Flockhart can't return to to the series on a full-time basis, then her character needs to be replaced. I love Kat, but Kara's journey to the woman she wants to be - in both her identities - and Kat as her mentor is the cornerstone of the show. The writers really struggled with Calista's absence last year and despite the involvement of Roulette and Lillian Luthor Kara's story felt incredibly dictated to by men (J'nn, Mon-El, Snapper Car, Jermiah). A new character in the same mould either at Catco or elsewhere is essentinal.
3) No new romantic relationships for Kara. I want to see Kara fall, rise, fall again in the hole that she's in by herself. Either being saved by a guy or putting in her relationship with someone equally troubled are equally bad moves for the show. Far too much time was spent on Kara/Mon-El last year - I want the show to get back to it's roots this season: the struggle of Kara Zor-El.
4) Wynn and James. We didn't really get to see either character do much last year. In James's case, it's just bizzare - given both roles as a super hero and head of Catco. Maybe as Guardian he help work agasint racially motivated crime, police corruption, etc? As for Wynn, we never really saw him adjust to his new job at the D.E.O, either. With his usual vibrant supportive best friend struggling this time, perhaps we'll see Wynn confront his issues? And maybe we'll see them made manifest in time for Halloween with the return of the Toyman? 5) Lana figuring out Supergirl's secret identity would be a nice shakeup and add further dramatic tension to her arc. Team Supergirl needs someone who understands how evil thinks and I can't see Kara's other friends/family being able to confront her about her issues the way Lana can.

I’ve been very happy with the treatment of Clark. If they never used him, he would be conspicuous in his absence, if they used him more than they do, he would overshadow Kara. Plus, he has the modesty and decency and basic goodness that Superman needs.
I’d be happy with Lex staying off-screen. I’m more than happy with the Luthor family’s representation between Lena and Lillian. (I wouldn’t mind Lena teaming up with Idris Elba as Luthor and Luther, but I don’t see that happening)
Ugh. Mon-El. The actors do have great chemistry together, but I’d be pleased if he never came back. Agreed with you about Wynn. The show needs to decide what it wants to do with James. He doesn’t seem to have a role and they need to fix that.
I’d love more Lena, because she is great with Kara. Agreed with you about Cat Grant.
I want another Flash episode or two. Other than the Mon-El stuff, I was pretty happy with season 2. I hope they continue with what they were doing.

Thanks for replying Is it wrong that I want Wynn to continue making bad romantic decisions and (and yes, they can come in the geek variety) with the rest of Team Supergirl cringing and trying to gently steer him clear?
