I wonder if Adam will be killed off? John Dorney's brilliant, but Louise Jameson could more then hold her own as the series lead. Given that things are heading in a dark direction, perhaps Department 7 will be dismantled and Anne will be forced to work with Adam's ex-wife and daughter to uncover Dretiexel's plans? I hope not as I find Adam the stronger and more interesting character, but just in general I hope we don't have either of them killed off.

Death isn't necessarily the end, nor is it the worst fate either. Sweet dreams. I find the whole new management comes in and closes down the department thing a cliche.

I love Adam stumbling into the supernatural and finding his place in it, but Anne's just as compelling with her regrets, weariness and isolation from others from what she's experienced.

This is a BF series I'm interested in, but not sure why they don't offer a download-only 'Bundle' deal to buy all three releases. Would expect this would help sales as can't see many people purchasing series 3 if they haven't already listened to 1+2. Anyway I'm skint at the moment so just as well they don't.

Under Glass by Roy Gill .........well, that was a cracking good start to the set. Blimey, I'll say. A particularly emotive story for poor Adam. Still by turns flawed and sympathetic, he's a good character and getting better all the time. Troubled. Obstinate. Kept in check, sometimes unwillingly, by Anne. Great turns by John Dorney and Louise Jameson, which by this stage, is something of a given. I'm really getting to love this creepy series. As with many things, for all the demons and ghostly voices, it is the human drama and tragedy that hits the hardest. Roberta Taylor puts in a fine guest performance as a breathy Olivia Kirkland, and Lucy Goldie as Claire. Screaming cats, legends of imps, supernatural photographs, telekinetics, Nick Briggs' ghostly score ... it's all here in Roy Gill's excellent story and strong series opener. Lovely dark evening listening.

Phantom Pregnancy
This was emotive. I'm not good with babies, or anything to do with them. Don't like them, that's the truth of it. That's the reason I've never listened to Torchwood's Corpse Day more than once. Exceptional story, but the subject story makes me feel a bit queasy. So you'll understand I was on tenterhooks a bit during this. And Louise Jameson as writer, really tapped into this (not my personal unease, of course, but the uncertainty of the condition). And as a writer, she surprised me by showing Anne Reynolds in such a questionable light. After her initial rebuttal of the phrase 'illegal immigrant', preferring 'refugee' regarding the character of Adhara, she then goes on to treat her as little more than a lab-rat. When the girl wants rid of the child, Anne, with patronising manner typical of 'those who think they know best', gently dismisses her wishes - as it turns out, Anne has her own surprisingly selfish reasons for wanting the pregnancy to continue. This is a story that provokes a lot of reactions.
This is my favourite story of Series 3 so far. It's disturbing and frightening and contributes more to what seems to be a bigger picture. The characters are both flawed, and that is unusual in an ongoing series. And their flaws irritate each other - but Adam definitely emerges as the hero here. Losing 'something momentous' is how Anne laments Adhara's return to normality and comparative happiness, and it is hard to appreciate that level of detachment. I'd be interested to hear how other people feel about this.

Drawn to the Dark
This series of The Omega Factor has proved quite an exercise in 'shaking things up', it seems. In the preceding story, Anne's colder side was brought to the fore. A commendable professionalism, of course, but detached to an extreme that certainly shocked me - but perhaps that is more to do with my discomfort concerning the subject matter than anything else. Whatever, it is that same determined professionalism that works in the story's favour this time round in actually getting to the bottom of the events in this truly chilling tale - but even she didn't see some of these twists coming! As for Adam - occasionally irritating, sympathetic, loyal, long-suffering Adam - and the officious Jame Doyle: well! Who knows what happens next (although for Doyle, it seems it is a foregone conclusion).
Phil Mulryne continues to be one of my favourite of BF's current crop of writers; here, he delivers a first rate chiller and a suitably spectacular wrap-up for Series 3. I haven't heard the extras yet, but I'm pleased to hear a further series is in the works. The Omega Factor has quietly become essential listening for me, and it keeps on getting better by taking certain risks with its excellent regulars. Long may it continue to do so.

After not liking series two, I almost did not buy series 3......I am glad that I did, while still streets away from brilliant series one, it was a lot better.
While we had 3 really good stories, really let down by the forth story.
I don’t understand why they have almost removed the horror/scares in favor of the relationship aspect.....the picture story would have been vastly more intrestiong had it not been Adams girlfriend and spent a third of the tale on that, now I know it’s good to have a multi level tale but most of this is soap opera stuff, and not why I buy my audios. I can get archers for free if I want soap opera.
So I did enjoy it, but not quite as good as I hoped. Please ramp up the horror/creepy aspect, if it’s going to carry on

Cursed photos? Haunted video games? The plans of an evil cabal almost coming to fruition? It was all pretty creepy and scary for me. I like the balance of horror and character focus. And I think that's what it is, a good balance. It ISN'T a soap opera, but the characters are fleshed out, 3 dimensional. I just wish we'd see Adam start to get a better hold on his gifts, rather than still be surprised and out of control. I adore this series. One of my favorite from Big Finish.

Afraid on this we will have to disagree......it very soap opera in its execution for me.......but that just me. yes they got good creepy ideas, but it all feels flat.....with all the oh I like Adam, Adams gone to Disneyland, I don’t know what I do with out Adam........it never sounds real.....it’s soap chat does expand the plot or character. Far too much of it for my taste. i am never scared or thrilled like the truly terrifying church episode or the horror of the unexplained old gods and morag was an enigma in series one. now morag has become over used, and the scares are either over explained or played out through chat rather than soundscape and imagination. i still enjoy the series, I don’t quite adore it, I like the ideas even if the execution falls shot for me but this series was a big improvement over series two which I really hated.

Just finished the Behind the Scenes yesterday. Another good series and I'm glad that they are planning for the return.
Adam Dean is really put through the ringer in this series. John Dorney really makes us feel for him. He really exudes weary when needed.
I was surprised that Louise Jameson wrote "Phantom Pregnancy", because Anne Reynolds is really cold and unlikable throughout much of the episode, though she comes through at the end. That demon baby was really creepy.
