I know there was a 15% one for October for MR releases but I think it was for attendees at a convention, not one sent out to all, if we're talking about the same one. Someone on another forum forum mentioned it, I wasn’t aware where it came from because they just said that the code playhouse gets you 15% off, so I used it for the Sixth Doctor Sale.

It might be quicker this time with the increase in listeners since the 50th (I didn't start listening to BF until 2014, and when I decided to start collecting the CD's almost all of the first 50 were out of print anyway) And thinking it over after having a sort out/tidy up/taking note of my pre-orders/wish list, now I realize storage will continue to be a problem if I decided to get many CD'a of these stories on offer, I always prefer a physical copy (and will continue to get CD's for the McGann's and New Who ranges I follow) and would have liked to get these titles on CD before they went out of print, but there's a limit to how much space/money I can prioritize for different ranges and the 8th Dr audios are my main interest, nothing against the 80's Doctors but I'm simply not as attached to those takes on the character. It's very tempting... but I think I will do the sensible thing for once and mostly stick to downloads for non-McGann/New Who releases from now on (it helps that the headphone speakers on my current laptop are rather better than my last...and you never know, in a few years they might reprint the first 100 as boxsets...). That said, I think I will read some reviews and pick up a few of the 1-100 monthly range downloads I haven't got yet later, £2.99 remains a bargain for a 2hour story and there's so many of those I haven't listened to yet, and the money I save on the CD's costs could be put towards a CD pre-order of one of the ranges on my wish list

Once I've cleared my current backlog of Big Finishes I think I'll dip into the newly discounted lot, got some Eighth Doctor gaps to fill and can progress through more of the seventh Doctor, Ace and Hex story,

I came to BF many years ago, and I was a little overwhelmed by the variety of titles and the prices, so my initial "samples" came from picking up used CDs from eBay. I hit the jackpot one summer when a seller was unloading his entire collection of 60-70 titles for about $100 shipped. Sure, I eventually got hooked, became a subscriber, and started filling in the missing gaps in my collection so that now I have CDs for every title released in the main range and have a Megasub running all the way out to #262. Today, I have five bookcases filled with Big Finish media and a backlog that will take me 1-2 years to listen to just to get caught-up.
But many many of the 1-50 and 51-100 titles I never got in download form from BF. So when today's sale hit, combined with the price reduction on the 51-100 titles and the 10% off EVERYTHING discount code.... well, I went a little bonkers.
I am fearful of putting my Credit Card back in my wallet - it's so hot right now I'm afraid it my burst into flames and take my pants (sorry, "trousers") with it:
Main Range Digital Downloads: 1 - Sirens of Time 3 - Whispers of Terror 5 - The Fearmonger 6 - The Marian Conspiracy 7 - The Genocide Machine 9 - The Spectre of Lanyon Moor 13 - The Shadow of the Sourge 15 - The Mutant Phase 22 - Bloodtide *23 - Project: Twilight *24 - The Eye of the Scorpion *25 - Colditz *26 - Primeval *27 - The One Doctor *28 - Invaders from Mars 30 - Seasons of Fear 31 - Embrace the Darkness 37 - The Sandman 42 - The Dark Flame 44 - Creatures of Beauty 45 - Project: Lazarus 51 - The Wormery 53 - The Creed of the Kromon 57 - Arrangements for War 60 - Medicinal Purposes 68 - Catch 1782 69 - Three's a Crowd 71 - The Council of Nicaea 78 - Pier Pressure 84 - The Nowhere Place 88 - Memory Lane 90 - Year of the Pig 92 - Nocturne 98 - Frozen Time 99 - Son of the Dragon * = 6-title bundle
Main Range CDs, replacements for banged-up used copies: 64 - The Next Life @70 - Unregenerate! 72 - Terror Firma 82 - The Settling
Main Range CDs, Christmas Gifts @58 - The Harvest 74 - Live 34 81 - The Kingmaker 86 - The Reaping @87 - The Gathering 91 - Circular Time 94 - I.D. @ = I didn't have the BF digital download version of this, so getting on CD also fills that gap.

Time to go crawl into a hole and breathe....... phew, I'm exhausted! Don't worry.. I'm sure many of us are going to follow you

I am left wondering if this means we are going to start seeing an acceleration of other ranges going out of print. Or if the next wave of Main Range titles being reduced will have a shorter window.

It's possible they just realised during the stocktake that they had loads of boxes of CD's sitting around gathering dust - and costing them money - so decided to do a clear out... either that or Jason just wants to buy a new car!

Or the window for physical media is getting shorter and they are moving to a more digital first posture as a company.

Or the window for physical media is getting shorter and they are moving to a more digital first posture as a company. Doctor Who main range release #100 - suitably titled 100 - was ten years ago (2007) so that's not really a short window of opportunity for people to buy the CD. It's also the same length of time that the first fifty were available on CD; main range release #50 - Zagreus - was released in 2003 and the first fifty main range titles were permanently reduced and digital only (once stocks were exhausted) from 2013. So the gap is the same, ten years. As for new titles, Big Finish still seem to like their CD box sets and luxury deluxe packaging for 'specials' like the 10DA Volumes, so I don't see a digital first posistion from Big Finish just yet, although that is probably only a matter of time.

Do share some tips with us too Unless you've been waiting for specific releases to go on sale, I'd concentrate on newly released stuff, preorders, bundles and subs - great savings to be made and as has been said elsewhere, this offer has only happened once before! Newly released stuff are unlikely to go on sale anytime soon (am prepared to be wrong) and making savings on preorders (that you are going to buy anyway) is a no brainer. Of course if you are a CD purchaser and don't have many 51-100, get them first Cheers Tony I took your suggestion and picked up mostly new releases and pre-orders, the exception to this being MR where I just had to fill in my collection

I am actually tempted to get some of my favourite ones on CD.. Should I? Or should I save the money for some release that I don't own? Thinking

Sound advice Mark! Of course, what counts as 'a few' around here after last weekend's collective spree is another matter...

I prefer physical media and I'm only 25. (Though I'm balding and occasional rather grumpy, so I guess I'm an old fart at heart...)
