Nearly, the thread was "Lets poke fun at Ian Levine for sh!ts and giggles", if you read what was actually posted, no one said anything about him at all, they poked fun at his statements and/or actions. I think you're splitting hairs there to be honest. The whole thing was very mean spirited and nobody would like it if someone started up a thread with the sole purpose of poking fun and not saying anything positive about him. Poking fun at his statements and/or actions is by extension poking fun at him. I don't know or like the guy, I just didn't think I'd see that kind of thread on this forum. Poking fun at peoples words and actions is satire. Satire can be uncomfortable, and can be problematic when that satire is pointed at people who don't deserve it, and who deserves it is subjective, but for me, Ian Lavine is ripe to satirised. If you extended your thoughts here to politicians much political commentary that is entirely healthy would be stopped.

In my opinion the thread was neither making a point or even remotely funny but that's subjective I guess. Clearly the mods were also worried or the thread would still be open for people to be mean satirical

Also, the excuse that you were led astray doesn't really carry any weight: you're a legal adult and you are responsible for your actions. I' an autistic adult! That means I can be led astray.

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

Hmmm, children can be aware that they can be lead astray, knowledge of, awareness of that fact doesn't in of itself make them culpable, nor does it mean they will or should be expected to know all the time when this might be happening. A quick scan of some academic papers on the subject of autism and the law, show that whilst people with autism can be prosecuted for crimes, it can and is used as both mitigation (against culpability) and in generally considered in sentencing i.e. even if found guilty, someone with autism is likely to receive a different sentence to someone without autism.

I think everyone needs to take a step back, take a deep breath and lighten the hell up.

I see the thread still isn't unlocked. Why are the mods still denying us the chance to delete our posts and apologise? 😡

I see the thread still isn't unlocked. Why are the mods still denying us the chance to delete our posts and apologise? 😡 If you want to apologise, you can do so here or another thread, the original thread does not need to be unlocked for that. As to deletion, you can always message a mod asking for them to do it for you. But you should also give the mods time, they are not all here all the time, and as the rules make clear, they can take time to respond for no other reason than it just takes time for them to all get a chance to deal with stuff.

*** Moderation *** A number of points here: 1. The Mod Team decided the "Let's make Levine red!" thread was not really a suitable topic for this forum and as stated in the rules 2. If any member wishes to apologise to anyone, that is their right but the Mod Team is not here to lock and unlock threads so people can change their posts. If you want the post deleted, please report the post and ask the Mods to remove it. We will then consider and if appropriate take the relevant action. If the thread creator wishes to have the thread removed, again, report the original post and the Mods will consider if appropriate and take the relevant action. 3. I have removed the link to this thread from the "Welcome to the Divergent Universe" thread as it is inappropriate and does not show "welcoming" to new members. 4. As jasonward said, Mods are not on the forum all the time and generally cannot act as soon as people would like. 5. It is better to consider what you are going to post, before posting and then potentially regretting it (even if your target is unlikely to ever read it). 6. Members are free to either stay or leave as they choose (apart from in certain circumstances). What we ask is that you remain respectful of each other's opinions, and other people. 7. This thread is also now being locked as it suits no constructive purpose. Do not create other similar threads, or these will also be locked and action taken. Anyone who feels aggrieved because of this can report this post and the discuss with the Mods directly. *** End Moderation ***
