I'm seriously considering leaving this forum in the wake of the Let's Make Levine Red thread being locked.
Fair enough if the mods think it is bullying, but at least give those of us who didn't believe it was chance to apologise to a Mr Levine who may or may have been given a link to it by the mods and delete our posts before locking.
If the thread is not reopened to give us chance to delete our posts and apologise then I am definitely going to leave.

I don't understand why you think you're so important to make this grand statement. If youre going to leave then leave. If you're not then don't. Big statements and ultimatums just make you look laughable and desperate

The point is I want the thread reopened so we can apologise and delete our posts otherwise I'm leaving.

You were 100% adamant that you weren't bullying and equally insistent that you did not need to apologise for anything you had written!!
either admit you were wrong or stand by what you wrote or stick to your guns and leave.
If if you leaving isn't the point then why issue an, admittedly laughable, ultimatum in the first place?

I can't admit that I was wrong because the thread is locked! I was led astray by other members. I believed it was right because others were doing it. I'm not blaming them, it is just something that has happened in the past because of my autism. We all deserve the right to delete our posts and apologise before a thread is locked, and I think it is wrong that it was locked before we were given that chance.

You and others were laying the boot in on someone who wasn't there to defend themselves and you'd get away with it........ or so you thought.
You weren't led astray. You were out of order. Be a man and admit what you've done without blaming other things.
Don't ever type anything that you're not happy for others to see. You typed it, the thread is locked. Live with it, suck it up and stay and move on or just shush and leave. Easy!

So no one can have different opinion on someone that you disagree with then Matt and if they do that's the same as bullying?

Surely it's better to abide by the mods' decision (that's what they're here for) and just move forward? What's done is done, I don't see the point of going all 'Truth or consequences' on the forum as a result.

I never used the word bullying. I think it was a thread that was uncalled for and mean spirited but I never mentioned the word bullying as I think that takes it to another level.
Ironically I don't actually have anything positive to say about Mr. Levine myself. However we we are talking about a thread that was set up with the sole purpose of being mean to someone who wasn't there to defend themselves. What was to gain from the thread? What merit did it have?
I'm saying everyone who posted anything negative in that thread should stand by it and not give ultimatums if they don't get their own way.
Would anyone one say the things they typed to Ian Levine face? Doubtful.
Plus us I really have no time for big I'm leaving statements. If you want to leave then leave, don't wait around and hope someone begs you to stay.
Mark687 - I'm just stating my opinion not that my own opinion is the be all and end all. The thread wasn't "Opinions on Ian Levine - discuss" the thread was "Let's slag off Ian Levine for sh!ts and giggles"

... the thread was "Let's slag off Ian Levine for sh!ts and giggles" Nearly, the thread was "Lets poke fun at Ian Levine for sh!ts and giggles", if you read what was actually posted, no one said anything about him at all, they poked fun at his statements and/or actions.

I think you're splitting hairs there to be honest. The whole thing was very mean spirited and nobody would like it if someone started up a thread with the sole purpose of poking fun and not saying anything positive about him. Poking fun at his statements and/or actions is by extension poking fun at him. I don't know or like the guy, I just didn't think I'd see that kind of thread on this forum.

We all deserve the right to delete our posts and apologise before a thread is locked, and I think it is wrong that it was locked before we were given that chance. This has happened in several threads before - I've had posts deleted because my words were inflammatory. Frankly, the mods here do a brilliant job at keeping this place as civil and pleasant as it is. If you want to apologise, start a thread that deals with that: complaining that you can't delete some posts that you made rather than just moving on and trying to do better in future makes you look immature. Also, the excuse that you were led astray doesn't really carry any weight: you're a legal adult and you are responsible for your actions. If you've made a bad call, you need to deal with that: hiding what you've done creates a false image of yourself. Owning up to making bad choices and then changing your behaviour is more adult and responsible than placing links to this thread across heaps of other areas in the forum and saying that you can't hide what you did.

But the thread point was the irony itself, again something happened (animated Shada) that Levine did first, and instead of congratulations people can now compare its "I did it first so this one is rubbish".

I am in no way condoning his comments about the fan or his general attitude just that I thought the thread mean spirited and lowered the tone of the forum. Fair enough you thought the thread ironic. That's your call but myself, a few others and the mods disagreed and so the thread was shut. That should have been the end of it.
