Blair Mowat seems a logical choice.

I think it's time for a change, Gold music is iconic & features many amazing scores but maybe it's time for some new blood to be added to the mix.

Given Chibnall's desire for media attention, he could possibly get a big name (both Clint Mansell and Mychael Danna have worked with him before) to do the new theme, and then another, lower tier composer (e.g. Ben Foster, Andy Price, Jim Parker, all prior colaborators) to do the regular soundtrack.

I love Clint Mansells work and have seen him live but, as much as I'd love it, I can't see him doing Doctor Who. Gladly be wrong though.
Maybe Chibbers could use the Orbital version of the theme?

I have mixed feelings about Gold leaving - he's composed every episode of New Who and he's done some amazing pieces, but at the same time, I do think we haven't had anything absolutely amazing from him lately. It would be nice to get some new blood and let someone else have a crack at the whip.

I hope so. He is overrated. His score is too overblown often.
