Seems Bilis return stories are like buses, you wait for ages and two come in close succession.

Hotly anticipated, this. I love a bit of Billis - Murray Melvin is a legend.

I quite liked this one. I just wish it had come out yesterday, when it was pouring rain here

It's great when everything in an audio is tuned into the same focus. It doesn't always happen, at least not to my ears. Sometimes creative departments pulling in different directions can produce something wonderful, but it's always great when writer, sound designer and music composer 'get' the material and all travel down the same sinister road, as here. This must also be down to director Scott Handcock too - the team have put everything into making this a creepy tale of tortured isolation, and when you have Murray Melvin as your main performer (ably assisted by Cara Chase and Gareth Pierce), you would think nothing could go wrong. And you'd be right!
One of many things I love about this latest series of audios from the terrific Torchwood range is that things have got progressively darker as we've gone on. From hectic comedic beginnings, this series reached a peak of creepiness last month with Instant Karma. Deadbeat Escape trumps even this. Turn the lights off, stick the headphones on and travel to the hauntedist haunted house Wales has ever seen!
These single release Torchwoods are BF's greatest and most consistent current series in my view.

I'm a few tracks in & it's certainly an intriguing listen so far! [Is it bad that I've just realised I haven't finished 'The Death Of Captain Jack' yet?... (bites lip)]

The last five minutes, where Bilis reveals the trap was set by the Committee (their greatest feat yet, it blows the hostile AI sex doll out of the water) and that he was gathering souls to facilitate his escape were brilliant, making me want to shout "you bastard!". The trap really is a hell for those caught in it, and the way Bilis pretends to care for the guests, all for the purpose of sacrificing them, really shows what a morally devious bastard he can be. What if he allies with Torchwood against the Committee?
Love the shout out to Passengers in the extras. A conceptually and morally fascinating film.

Well, that was a very weird and disturbing story. The actors were fantastic.
