Thanks for the Tips. Hell Drivers is a classic though I have seen it many times: James Bond, Doctor Who, John Drake/The Prisoner, George Cowley, George Dreyfus & Illya Kuryakin in one film - that takes some beating for cult franchise actors in one film before their time. I have seen it twice on telly the past year alone, so will skip it for now. Turns out I don't have Green for Danger except for VHS, so looking between either Death Line or Oh Rosalinda! to add to make it a good two release purchase. Oh Rosalinda I could only recommend if your time of Powell and Pressberger also includes The Red Shoes and especially Tales Of Hoffman. It's far, far away from Colonel Blimp, Matter Of Life And Death and the like. Death Line is a genuinely solid Brit-horror - it's got an alt-title in the US that gives the plot away a bit too much - but I think it's up there with the likes of Horror Express as films that have the people we would see in Hammer and Amicus films but a few years on and with a story that if it were made a decade later would be just gratuitous nonsense. If you're an Alistair Sim fan, as I'd imagine you would be if you love Green For Danger (and who isn't a Sim fan once they see enough of him?) then you might not know The Green Man is coming to bluray from Studiocanal next month - with interviews with Stephen Fry and Matthew Sweet on the disc! www.zoom.co.uk/product/the_green_man_blu_rayTalking Pictures is a great channel where I find a lot of films that Network and Indicator put out on bluray, and a lot that wouldn't be in good enough quality to upgrade so getting them on telly is great as there's really no other channel showing these kind of British classics. If you watch it all day you're liable to see John Mills at least 4 or 5 times Which is NO complaint! I will definitely get Green for Danger as it is the first time it has been released with subtitles and will be a present. I do have the Red Shoes and Tales of Hoffman, so this was one I knew nothing of, but understand that it misses the heights of those two. Death Line & saw decades ago on TV and remember it well, so i suspect that would be more likely to get watched. Too many things I have bought over the years and keep for the collection of this or that get put away on a shelf or in a unit and forgotten about. Having had a clear out 3 years back when moving house, I am wary of accumulating yet more nice to have's. Agree regards Talking Pictures TV - it has become the default channel for me to tune in to see whats on. You are right about John Mills though - I am getting tired of the sight of him! Must get Ryans Daughter on Blu Ray though. VHS was a victim of the aforementioned clear out, but ranks with Great Expectations as one of his best films (David Lean again too).

Very, very happy to say my copy of the new Elephant Man 4K has arrived. Absolutely huge booklet, photos and a pop up replica of the Cathedral model that John Merrick made, still on display in the Royal London Hospital Museum. Packed with extras and Freddie Francis' cinematography looking amazing. Can we just take a moment to see the worlds that collided to make this film? Mel Brooks produced it. David Lynch directed it. Freddie Francis shot it. The geniuses of Young Frankenstein, Eraserhead and too many Hammer and Amicus films to name all in a perfect storm- with John Hurt and Anthony Hopkins giving the performances of a lifetime.

Eraserhead, Young Frankenstein & The Elephant Man. Three films, just crying out for fan produced Colourisation's to freshen them up. Think of the new life Peter Jackson could breath into them, like he did with that WW1 footage.

As for entertainment purchases, I keep telling myself I'm done raiding Amazon, but then I think of something else. This time I picked up the full series of Chris Carter's Millennium. All three separate season sets since the big box was sold out. Also ordered three seasons of Family Guy because I am a moron. Also also ordered the Shada animation, because I've never seen any version of the story and Mr Polly and I are working through Season 17 right now, so it would be nice to drop it into place. They sent Family Guy and Millennium S3 so far, but not the first two seasons and not Shada. I know why there are shipping delays at present, but it would be nice if Shada at least could arrive in time. Ah, well.

I really liked Millenium and thought it was really hitting it's stride when the axe fell. At least we got something of a bit of closure in the X-Files proper, as we did with The Lone Gunmen.

Yeah, it's a shame. I think if Millennium had come out even 5 years later than it did, it might have found a more receptive audience. Same goes for Profit with Adrian Pasdar. While I do appreciate the X-Files providing some closure to its sister shows, I'm of the opinion that neither of those episodes is all that hot.

I got the last two books in the Malazan series which I started, liked, and then dropped. I’m trying to decide if I want to do Malazan before Lightbringer or after.

Should finally be getting, today, just eight weeks after ordering, the Blu-Ray version of Time Tunnel. Zavvi had it on sale at a decent price but went out of stock. Been holding off watching any more episodes without the cliff-hangers restored and chronology intact.
Ordered yesterday evening, from Network, the Blu Ray of Quatermass (Conclusion) for a tenner. Having watched it on Talking Pictures TV the past month, I think I will enjoy a re-watch and get more out of it with the subtitles, plus I would like to see the edited/rejigged Film version. I also kept missing the start and then getting interrupted, so will be able to watch it when convenient.

I've picked up quite a bucketload of BluRays in the last little while: - Alfred Hitchcock: The Ultimate Collection (though weirdly missing some real classics. No Dial M or Strangers on a Train in favor of Torn Curtain?) - The Goonies/Gremlins/Gremlins 2 Triple Feature - The Dark Crystal 4K - Glengarry Glen Ross - Once Upon a Time in the West - Sergio Leone Anthology - Point Break - Dark City - The Lost Boys - Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle Writing it all down that's actually a good chunk of change over the past month. I should probably stop, but there's been a lot of good deals. Look at me, I'm starting to sound like a Big Finish customer!

Best Buy had a Boxing Day in July sale. Pretty random concept, but it meant snagging a Sony 4K player for $100 off.

i order daredevil by ed brubaker and lark omnibus vol 2 there seemed to be plenty of these around and for a good price. so i wasnt that concerned about
it sellig out. but when i saw instocktrades went out of stock i seached on ebay no listing so i jumped on cheapgraphicnovels and snatched
it up. instocktrades has better prices and free shipping with orders over 50 dollars. so i prefer to shop there. then i picked up
the stardust kid by j.m. demattis and mike ploog. i never heard of it before but mattis is a very good writer and i love mike ploog's artwork!

Since I have just started painting up a new Warhammer army. Thought I go back to my old love with Black Library audio dramas (they were actually the first Big Finish things I ever listened to!). Two of the horror dramas come highly recommended (and one of them is nominated for an award, going up against a BF production). I was curious. So I got "The Watcher in the Rain" and "The Way Out". Yeah, I know, I am not normally into horror. But since I have now gone over to the dark side and collect and paint demonic entities... I assume these audios will have a happy ending. For my side, that is.
