Looks like Zoom are getting ready to take the money out of my account so S14 should be on the way soon... Yep, Zoom have dispatched my copy. I haven’t noticed any delays with the post due to the current pandemic, but I’m not anticipating a Saturday delivery like previous releases. Can’t wait to get stuck in when it arrives.

Checked yesterday and it had been dispatched and 'arriving Tuesday'. checked again this morning and still the same, not yet 'out for delivery'. Half an hour later, 'ding-dong'. Can't complain at getting it earlier than expected, just pleased I was on-hand and so did not miss the delivery.
I guess I know what i'll be watching this evening...

So legit Shops and firms stop taking Pre orders 2/3 Months before release because of supply issues and yet over 3 dozen still get put on e-bay starting at 3x the price, Paradoxicaly there's a couple of cheaper then new Seasons 18s and 23s on there.

Regards mark687 I'm not sure what point you're trying to make there? I'm not defending these scalpers, but it seems obvious that they got their pre-orders put in on announcement, and therefore received the set. There are many eBay listings where it's clear that the person hasn't yet received the set, so it'll be interesting to see if those listings last. There are enough of these sets to go round, you just need to pre-order on the day of announcement, or a couple of days after. There's different methods of payment for those that are cash strapped. Paying by PayPal allows you to pay for it instantly, Amazon gift cards allow you to do the same. A normal pre-order will only take money on dispatch. The only mistake I can see here is Amazon selling more sets than they'll get stock for. For such a big retailer with a live stock system, that's not on. The limited nature is what allows this range to thrive and survive. People who want them know what to do. That's the top and bottom of it really.

It may sound harsh but as these are advertised as limited edition box sets you really have to order as close to the announcement date as possible, no dilly dallying which I found out to my cost with S12. If Amazon & other stockists allow people to but multiple copies then it is inevitable some will by more than one so they can sell on ebay.

And the advantage with pre-ordering on Amazon, is that they do not charge your account until they dispatch the product. It costs you nothing until its in the post. Once it is no longer limited, you have the inevitable buyers waiting for it to come down it price and then it becomes a loss maker. When you make something too widely available, you get silly offers, such as last year in my local HMV, they had a copy of Star Trek TOS complete Blu-Ray, on clearance for £29.

I keep checking my Amazon account to see if season 14 has been despatched, which is silly because I know that they will send an email when it is on it’s way.
I am just worried that they will run out of stock...

If Amazon & other stockists allow people to but multiple copies then it is inevitable some will by more than one so they can sell on ebay. Yep, indeed. As I said in my initial post, there's more than enough stock for everyone, even including scalpers. You just need to get your order in quickly after the announcement. I think Season 14 is the quickest to sell out in 2 months or so since the pre-order went live? That's plenty of time and includes those that want the set and any scalpers ordering multiples. There are different payment options and methods depending on your financial position. Personally, I like to pay via PayPal on Zoom because it's done and dusted and doesn't need to be budgeted for another time. Some like to pre-order and then pay on dispatch as they can budget in advance. We're seven sets in now, so I think these sets selling out shouldn't be a surprise. It's not specific to any particular Doctor - they're all selling out. The only exception is if a retailer sells more sets than the stock they're allocated. That's unacceptable and a fault of the retailer, and they shouldn't cancel first day orders, rather the most recent ones. That's not something BBC Studios can control, though.
