Looks like it was just a competition to win 2 VIP tickets to see her on Broadway, as per the video she just posted on Twitter... "just"? The chance to win free flights and accommodation and a chance to meet Piper and the Yerma cast backstage as well as attending the sold out show, hardly "just". Oh well we can all calm down now. Another false alarm. Yes, “just” because it’s nothing to do with all the speculation of 10DA Vol. 3 or Rose returning to the show.

She is not responsible for some people making stupid assumptions. I doubt very much that Doctor Who consumes her every waking thought like it does some of the fans.

Why couldn't she have used an emoji unrelated to her Doctor Who character?

Don't blame her for the fact that you made a huge assumption, there was NO mass hysteria, based on an emoji! 🌹

Well then to be frank the fanbase are idiots & Billie Piper should not take into account the reaction of idiots whenever she chooses to make a cryptic post on social media platforms!

DB, you decided on the base of no evidence whatsoever - once again - that this was going to be New Series Doctors At Big Finish. If you keep jumping to conclusions you're only going to disappoint yourself.

The point is that the rose emoji is linked to her Doctor Who character's name, it was obvious people would assume that meant a Doctor Who announcement and therefore she should have chosen her emoji usage more carefully.

DB isn't alone in this. How many times have BF teased an announcement then it turns out that it's "only" Star Cops or Terrahawks, and the fans assuming it's whatever they dreamed it would be ("It's Matt Smith!", "It's Timothy Dalton as Rassilon!") get peeved because something they were never promised turns out to be non-existent? It's a rather odd form of entitlement. See also "Why is Torchwood only back on audio, why not TV?", as though it were an either/or situation.

OMG how many times? You are just repeating yourself again! So I will repeat myself again. No she can choose whatever emoji she wants & not have to think about how fans of a show she hasn't appeared on screen in for 5 years will react. You are wrong. & repeating your same argument again & again will not change that. I understand you are disappointed but repeatedly blaming Billie Piper for your mistaken assumption is quite frankly rather childish.

If you keep jumping to conclusions you're only going to disappoint yourself. The evidence was the rose emoji. It's not a huge leap of logic to assume that meant the announcement was related to her Doctor Who character, and given this wasn't Rose-related she should have used any number of other emoji instead. 😮 would have been ideal, for instance. Or how about 🛩? That one screams 'competition'.

In the unlikely event of Billie reading this thread, I think she should use a 'rose' emoji on every announcement she makes, purely for her own amusement

So you and some other Who fans leaping to conclusions is mass hysteria? You do know how ridiculous that statement is, right? Mass hysteria among the fanbase, yes. Really? Somehow I think you continue to over exaggerate. I'm a fan. I wasn't hysterical. Most people on this board are fans, I didn't see any hysteria. You and perhaps some other fans, jumped to a conclusion and found yourselves disappointed. I really don't think that comes close to hysteria. Mass or otherwise.
