Sylvester McCoy is probably my favourite Doctor, but I have noticed that his performances can vary a bit. He can be very good, but sometimes the readings aren’t as polished as others. I think that is generally true. He is my least favorite TV & audio Doctor but as noted above, this stretch of releases is really strong for the 7th Doctor. Anyway, enjoy!

Hello! Thank you. I have few from the first 100, I loved The Fearmonger, The Spectre of Lanyon Moor, The Shadow of the Scourge, The Stones of Venice, The Fires of Vulcan and Seasons of Fear. I mostly only have the more recent releases though, I only discovered big finish a couple of years ago. Based on that list i'd recommend
130-132 (The Klien Trilogy)
133-135 (6th Doc and Jamie Trilogy)
123 Company of Friends (8th Doc)
109 The Death Collectors and 112 Kingdom of Silver (both 7th Doc)

Could someone confirm when the script PDFs for subscribers started? Big Finish's FAQ says #120 but the article for this sale says #121

That's part of why I finally tracked down the "Inside Story" Book that covers the first 50 MR titles. It sort of covers the same ground as the CD-Extras. Now, if only there were another such book to bridge releases 51 to 120...

Now, if only there were another such book to bridge releases 51 to 120... I'm still amazed that a book like The Inside Story exists at all. Let alone that Big Finish published it. Talk about a book that wasn't shy about throwing a sharp elbow or three about.

Thank you for your story suggestions, I think I’ll have to investigate the Klein stories.

I want to get The Crimes of Thomas Brewster because of Flip and DI Menzies. Do I need to get the rest of the trilogy?

I want to get The Crimes of Thomas Brewster because of Flip and DI Menzies. Do I need to get the rest of the trilogy? I wanted a third Brewster trilogy where he travelled with the Seventh Doctor - see how the ultimate chancer fared against the arch-manipulator. Unfortunately those who don't like something tend to be louder than those that do.

Industrial Evolution is pretty decent too. Not sure about The Feast of Axos, though- I heard the other two of the trilogy on 4Extra a couple of years ago and for some reason they played The Curse of Davros instead of it 😕

UPDATE: The free subscriber annual December bonus CDs are not included with this subscription offer, which is fair enough at this price.
However, the mp3 download version of the annual bonus story IS included, attached to the December MR release as an extra in your download account. So if your special offer sub includes a December MR release, you will get that year's subscriber bonus story as a free download, but not as a CD.
(When I bought a special offer sub, the purchase process didn't make any mention of the bonus release, but it was there as a download when I looked.)

UPDATE: The free subscriber annual December bonus CDs are not included with this subscription offer, which is fair enough at this price..) Ugh. I want The Four Doctors, but I already own all the MR titles. And I’m certainly not paying full price for 6 MR releases that I already own just to get one bonus story.

If you don't have six stories in a run that includes Demons of Red Lodge through a subscription, then might that be a pro? You'll at least have access to the story through Big Finish. You'll also get the script and extended extras for The Four Doctors. Demons of Red Lodge has some great subscriber stuff actually, including the film thats playing in the background of the last story in the collection. And at the current price it's a bargain. Unless you've got hang ups over downloads I don't see why not to go for it.

I own every title in the Monthly Range, but a great many of them were purchased piecemeal (ie I started out only wanting to buy McGann stories, then expanded to McCoy, etc). So I never did the subscription option, just picked them all up either by doing that or through sales. Now there appears to be no way of buying The Four Doctors short of paying full price for six releases I already have.

If you get a sub with Demons of Red Lodge you get access to the subscriber bonus content that goes with it. That's script and extended extras, The Devil's Whisper, The Four Doctors MP3 and audiobook options, Four Doctors script and extended extras and Little Drummer Boy (mp3 and audiobook, now available for general purchase on download). Until the sale ends you can get a six month sub for the sale price. I got a download sub from Magic Mousetrap to Paper Cuts to pick up the subscriber exclusives. $30 NZ, $5 for each story. For $30 The Four Doctors could be in your download folder.
