"Get a selection of tales from the Doctor Who Main Range at a special offer price this weekend. From now until the 22nd of February they’re available for only £6 on CD and £5 on download." "This weekend you can get Doctor Who Main Range releases 101 to 150 at a reduced price at £6 on CD or £5 on download. These special offer prices last from now until noon UK Time on the 22nd of February, so don't miss out." www.bigfinish.com/news/v/doctor-who-main-range-offersNow this is right at the end of the story and an option I've not seen before on these sales, so don't miss it: "Or to super save, you can get a subscription for 6 or 12 of these releases, specially created this week. Anyone buying titles via Subscription from #121 (Enemy of the Daleks) onward will get PDF scripts and a download of extended extras for each title, and up to four Subscriber Short Trips." That's a MR 12 story CD sub for £72 or a 12 story DL sub for £60, with all the story extras and the subscriber short trips, but not the free subscriber annual December bonus as CDs, which is fair enough at this price lol!! However, the mp3 download version of the annual bonus story IS included, attached to the December MR release as an extra in your download account. So if your special offer sub includes a December MR release, you will get that year's subscriber bonus story as a free download, but not as a CD. (When I bought a special offer sub, the purchase process didn't make any mention of the bonus release, but it was there as a download when I looked.) For UK buyers the usual rules apply so do your own maths: 10% discount on orders over £50, but not if you buy as subs. But free postage on subs as well as the story bonuses.

I just added 21 titles to my download folder. Which is kind of silly since that only leaves me with 5 titles from 101-150 that I don't have on digital but I said to myself I would only spend a hundred or so. After I purchased them I amended my comment to myself by saying, "Today."

I think it is worth noting that this span of Main Range releases is kind of a golden age for Big Finish. At the beginning of Nick's tenure as exec producer he really shook things up and many great stories were produced.

Bloody Fine Deal there! A few years ago I would try to watch out for discussion on deals like this, since I didn't visit the BF main news page very often. Alas, since its been nearly 6 years since I started in on BF, I've already bought and heard all of these. But for those of you who have not... go for it!

What a fantastic sale. I have them all, but if I didn't I'd be thrilled.

Finally! 8 stories that I needed, seven of which were Fifth Doctor stories. Now just five releases from the first 200 to go. Annoyingly the one McCoy story I'm missing is #151.
Been holding off listening to a load of Davison stories in which I'm missing stories from the run so it looks like I'll finally be able to listen to a good load of these.

A fantastic sale for sure. I did a rough calculation last night and reckon I could have saved about £180 by plugging the gaps in my collection in one huge go. The timing of the sale though (for me at least) is...not so good. If Big Finish had just held this at the end of the month (payday anyone?) instead of the middle.. Oh well. It is what it is. Happy listening to all those filling those gaps in their collections! As for me..well, to paraphrase a certain speech at the end of a certain 50th Anniversary special - it's probably going to take me so many years and probably so many lifetimes, but at least I know where I'm eventually going - an up to date Main Range collection...the long way round.

I'm getting the weirdest boost of nostalgia looking through the catalogue... It's kinda nice to just skim covers, recognise a title and smile, thinking "God, I really enjoyed that."

Thankfully it’s just the Sixth Doctor Audios that I’m trying to collect in full. My heart goes out to all of you who want a full Main Range collection. I think I’m going to bite the bullet and just get all the Sixth Doctor stories in this sale, because then I’ll just need to buy the 51-100s I don’t have, and then about 10 or 11 CDs from 2012 onwards.

It is interesting that they have included Doctor specific bundle options. I take it as a further confirmation that they will change the subscription options in the future. I stopped subscribing to the Monthly Range a couple of years ago, but I would really like a Sixth Doctor subscription option as he is the Doctor I miss the most...

The Doctor specific bundle options have been around since probably before I started buying Big Finish, which was around this time last year, so it’s not really something new. Though I would love to see specific Doctor bundles, the only issue with that is that the amount of stories a Doctor gets per year varies. For example, the Sixth Doctor had Seven stories in 2014, so that would be an issue with introducing Doctor specific subscriptions.

I believe Nick has indicated that Doctor specific subscriptions would be a feature of the new website when that finally arrives. As it is I can wait to hear more from the Sixth Doctor as there are so many boxsets coming out I am not short of stories to listen to.

I could be wrong, but I think the first Doctor-specific bundles were introduced in April 2015 during the Peter Davison Birthday Sale (coincidentally, it was also when the first '...Doctor Collected" range was introduced, hence why it appears above all the others when listed in the range drop-down), though only for the 5 th Doctor. It was later that year (June, I believe) when the license extension until 2020 was announced that Doctors 6-8 got specific Main Range bundles (and "Collected" ranges).

I don’t have any of these stories, does anyone have any recommendations? Anything that’s not to be missed?

Do you any from the 1st 100 or have you got a favourite Doctor or companion?

Hello! Thank you.
I have few from the first 100, I loved The Fearmonger, The Spectre of Lanyon Moor, The Shadow of the Scourge, The Stones of Venice, The Fires of Vulcan and Seasons of Fear.
I mostly only have the more recent releases though, I only discovered big finish a couple of years ago.

Ok so I've figured out two possible buys:
Either I go with completing the Forge/Hex arc: Forty-Five The Magic Mousetrap The Angel of Scutari Project: Destiny A Death in the Family
Or complete the Charley/Sixie arc: The Doomwood Curse Brotherhood of the Daleks The Raincloud Man Paper Cuts Blue Forgotten Planet (Already got Patient Zero from the December Dalek sale, haven't got round to listening yet)

There are a lot of very good 7th Doctor stories in this patch of Main Range releases including the Klein trilogy. The Stockbridge trilogy with the 5th Doctor & Nyssa is also worth a punt as is the 6th Doctor & Jamie trilogy. The 8th Doctor in The Company of Friends is pretty standalone. Lots of great stuff.

Sylvester McCoy is probably my favourite Doctor, but I have noticed that his performances can vary a bit. He can be very good, but sometimes the readings aren’t as polished as others.
