Without doubt one of my favourite performers in Classic Who, Sheila Hancock has a birthday today. All together now, 'happiness will prevail.'

Not someone who is very responsive to questions about her performance - she's been quite sniffy about Doctor Who and it's fans over the years in interviews. To be fair I think she was just very....foreign to the notion of fanmail and asking for photos etc.

People can be weird and demanding when it comes to actors - to someone like Sheila, it's just a job she had for a few days in the 1980s!

While that's absolutely true, I was being polite about her attitudes - she's quite infamously more than "sniffy" as I put it!

Born on this day. But why has he got 1976 on his t-shirt? I expect that's a US Bicentennial shirt!

It looks a bit old hat now but all of us remember how big a deal it was seeing it actually coming on, looking BIG and badass. Eccleston owned it from the trailer. But my grievance.....WHY DIDN'T THEY USE THE VERSION OF THE THEME FROM THE TRAILER ANYWHERE??? It's great - I want the full length one!

C'mon Big Finish give us the new trailer NOW! They do seem to be waiting this one out. It's like they know they've got our money already.

At this point, it’s practically guaranteed to be one of this years best selling releases. It may become their best selling release ever? You know, you might actually be right there. Getting Christopher Eccleston reprise his role is probably the biggest coup Big Finish have ever gotten next to the debut of the Tenth Doctor Adventures and Sir Derek Jacobi reprising his role as the War Master.

On this day in 1981, "it's the end...but the moment has been prepared for". 40th anniversary of the best regeneration scene ever.

The much missed Mary Tamm would have been 71 today. My favourite Romana.
