The War Games is a spectacular final note to send the Second Doctor off on, but ... Yeah, I thought Planet of the Spiders was a final note for the Third Doctor, especially as we actually saw Jon Pertwee regenerate in to Tom Baker at the end of Episode 6. Yet a decade later there the same Third Doctor was - older and whiter haired - driving Bessie along some road... 11B anyone?

Wouldja believe that the third Doctor was *always* aged and whitehaired, it's just that he got Timescooped on his way to the beauty parlour where he was due to get a mudpack and renewal of his youthful grey hairdye? Now, the problematic one is the fourth Doctor in "Dimensions in Time". Why did he look so old? It doesn't make sense for him to have been the Curator....

I believe the NAs proposed the theory that Dimensions in Time was just a peculiar nightmare of the Doctor.

Ah, yes, I believe he was investigating temporal anomalies on what locals in Buckinghamshire have started to call the Snowy Road. Besides, I think Three's white hair for Five is rather rad anyway. Pertwee really makes it work. As for Troughton going grey, World Game covers that, so no issue there. Wouldja believe that the third Doctor was *always* aged and whitehaired, it's just that he got Timescooped on his way to the beauty parlour where he was due to get a mudpack and renewal of his youthful grey hairdye? Although, if it were real, I cannot see any conversation with the Doctor and the Rani not going like this:

When it comes to a new era for the Second Doctor between televised stories, BF could always give the Doctor, Jamie and Zoe a fourth friend for an Early Adventures season arc. Like they join in EA 6.1 and leave in 6.4.
I don't think it would fit with Ben and Polly or Jamie and Victoria, though.
