It seems everytime we get a new launch, they skew younger with the books. But younger =/= worse, if done right! So I'll just hope it's less a children's story and more an all-ages affair (or, if it is more for the kids, that it's not the only type of book we get next year).

Author's got a good pedigree, should be a fun little read for the kids.
And hey, the comics will give us 13 print adventures more for our age range. The kids are overdue some new Who books.

After the last few series being aimed more and more at the hardcore fans I'm delighted that they're making an effort to bring back the wider audience.

I hope we get more than 3 a year this time. The sweet spot for the NSAs were really at the end of Tennant's era.

Apart from them stating that that's their intention in their Brand Strategy literature, you mean? "Grow youth audiences, engage families with young children."

No evidence to suggest the last few series was for hardcore fans. Apart from returns for The First Doctor, the original Cybermen, Ice Warriors, Daleks, the Master, Davros, Gallifrey, Time Lords, Zygons, and River Song.

Yet, you hold nothing against RTD/Moffat for continually returning Missy, River Song, the Ood, Rose, Clara, Silurians, the Silence, Weeping Angels, NuWho Cybermen and Captain Jack.

Why should I?

No evidence to suggest the last few series was for hardcore fans. There's nothing your average 10 year old loves more than Mondas Cybermen. Well, except for Alpha Centuri.

I was about that age when 'The Curse of Peladon' went out in 1972 and I know I thought Alpha Centauri was brilliant! (*Turns nostalgic shade of emerald-aquamarine, waves tentacles reminiscently*)
