I've not heard the rumor, so I'd better ask what "more than just the series" means before I get my hopes up. IF it means a spin-off, I'm having trouble thinking of a better one than the Paternoster Gang, and there have already been suggestions in the forum that Big Finish hasn't done anything with them in spite of 13th Doctor era licensing because there might be TV-related plans for them.

So, assuming the rumour is true and there's more than just the series on this year, what other TV content do you want from the show? There's a particularly good spoiler thread for that sort of thing, you know.

Honestly, I'd love it if Big Finish did a full-cast Thirteen Doctor story for BBC Radio at some point. Raise the profile of audio drama and let Big Finish get their hands on Thirteen early!

Animated Daleks Masterplan. Too costly - we'll never see it happen

Animated Daleks Masterplan. Too costly - we'll never see it happen And we thought we’d never see Power Animated. Por the return of Web of Fear. Or who on the big screen. or a female Doctor. or someone of the caliber of John Hurt or Derek Jacobi in Doctor Who. Never say never 007...

Not to be rude, but you mentionced a rumour outside of the thread which was irrelevant to the topic you started. Personally, I don't want to know if there is going to be a series split - I just want to go in knowing what I've been officially teased, that's the ride I'm on

More War Doctor novels... I think there's an argument in NOT defining his period too much, though. Engines of War and The War Doctor sets were snapshots of his era, a glimpse after incaluable pain and sorrow of the pain aand even then it was vaguely defined. I wouldn't mind a one-off novel or something, but I really don't want much else.

At least three 13th Doctor books a year 6 current Doctor books from next year onwards would be great, plus one or two PDAs as well.

The War Doctor must have had many experiences between the end of Night of the Doctor, and the beginning of Day of the Doctor. He did age a lot.

Perhaps six regular current Doctor books at the standard NSA level and then two older reader books (like Shada or Silent Stars Go By. Not any Virgin NA-level content), one of which is a PDA?

Eh, I think BBC Books consider that Big Finish have cornered the market on past Doctors, outside of a big name release.

The story is high profile, so you might be right But given that it takes a year to animate four episodes, it's possible the BBC might be concerned about run-off sales between releases.

Well I don't think they do, considering we've had one released every year for the past five years.

The releases have involved either novels by high profile authors (Alistair Reynolds, Jenny T Colgan) in 2013 and 2016, Gareth Robert's Shada adapation and the subsequent Douglas Adams novelisations by James Goss and the Short Story collections, though.
