I'd love to meet Christopher Eccleston, I wouldn't pay £95 for his signature though.

Colin, Sylvester and Capaldi will all be there the same day! It's entirely possible none of them have met Chris before, so that's cool. Brings him back into the family a bit.

I hope Colin and Sylvester take a few Big Finish CD's along with them and pass them on to Christopher Eccleston ... a few dropped hints about the BF lunches probably wouldn't go amiss either...

Who'd want to see him? All he's going to do is drone on about how much he hated everything and everyone, as usual.

Fans are probably aware that Christopher Eccleston will be making his first convention appearance at this July’s London Film & Comic Con. £95 for a autograph. Who'd want to see him? Me... if I was in London!

Agreed. And I personally think CE moving out into fandom like this is a good start to possibly defrosting his sometimes chilly history with the show.

Me too, as I said in the other Eccleston thread, I think what were seeing is part of the process of healing, which ultimately is a good thing, and whilst I don't think we've made any huge leaps in CE's willingness to portray Who again, I do suspect we've moved in the direction that fans want.

There are many stories of his great interactions with fans. He helped with someone's proposal, filmed a video for a sick kid, and recorded something for Moffat's wrap party. His memories of the show are bad, but he has nothing but respect for the fans and the character.

I'd really love to see Ecclestone tackle a pre-Rose story. God, just imagine.

To some, he saved Doctor Who, and helped shape its future. He's not a one man complaint. I'm sure he has plenty other stories to tell, but as this ISN'T a panel. We wont know!

If this isn't paper gossip & he's truly charging £95 a autograph then shame on you Chris, that's taking the p..s on the hard working fans, personally never been a fan of his so my fandom can easily survive without his autograph.

Paper gossip?! It's from the Cons own website. As for taking the piss, it seems CE is dammed if he does and dammed if he doesn't. But above all else, does CE owe people anything? Is there any, none commercial, reason why he *shouldn't* charge £10,000 per signature if he wanted? If that's what he wants to charge, and people are willing to pay, and it's a service/item no one needs or is essential, so (again other than commercial concerns) what possible reasons exist for saying Chris should or should not charge whatever price he wants?

I don’t get autographs, be it free or £100...........
I used to hate the signed covers subscribers used to get, to me it just spoils it.

Well just to say a Entry Ticket + a Photo/Autograph with Matt Smith at the 50th Con cost the same
I assume though Eccleston's charge is separate form a entry Ticket which I always think is overpriced anyway

This whole thing makes me smile. I wouldn't pay, but I can easily see that if people were not paying then the conventions would not be able to attract the stars, the whole seen be very different, perhaps not really exist at all.
Cons have never been my thing, and meeting the actors behind the characters I love has always struck me as slightly odd, but each to their own and it certainly does me no harm at all, so there is a market out there, which means there will be prices, and CE is, I would expect, able to charge a premium. He (and I suggest none of the stars) are going to attend because they enjoy attending endless cons, flying around the world, signing autographs and answering the same questions time and time again. It's a job, it's how they make a living, some of them (the stars), I'm sure it's now their primary source of income. It's a market place, pay if you think it's a price you want to pay, don't if you don't, move on, the market will sort the rest out.
