In the vein of the iconic radio series about favourites, let's do one for Doctor Who. Pick, if you had to: 1 Classic Who story 1 NuWho story (I'll be generous and say yes, a two-parter counts) 1 BF story 1 Who book (NAs, MAs, PDAs, 8DAs etc)

I found this surprisingly easy, considering the vast number and fabulous quality of the choices on offer (we really are spoiled as Who fans, aren't we?):
Classic: The Talons of Weng-Chiang - the best of all 'Who' ever! New: Mummy on the Orient Express - a classic setting and monster (with a new twist), defeated by the Doctor's brilliant deductions as the clock ticks down. BF: Philip Hinchcliffe Presents Vol 1 - superb in every way. Book: Target novelisation of 'The Curse of Peladon' - pure 70s nostalgia with 'my' Doctor and still a great read.

Not at all easy for me - the BF section probably being the toughest - but here goes...
Classic Era TV: Genesis of the Daleks ... Fourth Doctor, Sarah, Harry, Skaro, Daleks, Davros, Robert Holmes, Phillip Hinchcliffe... Nuff Said! New Era TV: Bad Wolf / The Parting of the Ways. Epic, emotional and the first regeneration of the new Doctor Who era. Big Finish: Dalek Empire (Series 1) Book: Ben Aaronovitch's novelisation of Remembrance of the Daleks. (Best Target novelisation ever IMO.)

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

Classic: Warrior's Gate New: Silence In The Library/ Forest Of The Dead BF: Full Fathom Five Book: The Writer's Tale (bit of a cheat but it's probably the DW book I've read most).

New: The Empty Child & The Doctor Dances BF: The Holy Terror Book: Lungbarrow (but hey ask me again tomorrow and I might say something entirely different)
