I think that one way to raise the profile of the MONTHLY range would be to make it the WEEKLY range! Rather than releasing all of the stories in one go on download they should release the episodes individually on (say) every Friday. There are 13 releases each year containing 4 episodes, so that is 52 episodes. The physical release could stay the same or they could package them into mini-series box sets sent quarterly, thereby reducing postage and perhaps freeing up space within the booklets for other things than advertising the next release. Or twice weekly, like how it was in the 80's (Tuesday and Thursday nights I believe). Lots of the Main Ranges do have the biggest cliffhangers on Part Two, right at the end of the first disc.

I agree that rolling out Main Range stories for download episode by episode could be great fun, and encourage listeners to keep up to date with the range (something I've never done). It seems to have worked well for Dark Shadows. But it might leave CD-only purchasers feeling left out and could crowd out efforts to give other new releases the attention they deserve.

I still think they should add the new series Doctors to the main range instead of separating old and new. They're the same show; let's see War and 10 in the main range. Also: the missing link 8.

The problem with that is if you add 4, 8, War, 10, to the main range it becomes very crowded, and starts to become harder to give the doctor's fair treatment. And as its been stated before, they already seperated 4 and 8 from the pack, so keeping war and 10 seperated is less seperating the new from the old, and following current trends.

I agree that is gets too crowded if you add all those Doctors to the MR, however I would love to vary the 5, 6 & 7 trilogies with a one-off of War, or 10, or 8, etc. A stand alone story, or a release of 4 short stories, but something that they wouldn't be able to do in the hour long or box set releases.

Yeah, that would be a good alternative. Or they could alternate: for example, one month the 7th Doctor could get a box set and 10 could take his place in the main range.

The Main Range must still be doing well for Big Finish if their recent offer of a super-sub is anything to go by. Whereas other ranges get cancelled if they don't keep their sales up, BF must be very confident if they are taking orders for the next four years!

I'll be very surprised if they didn't get a lot of people buying the War Doctor: Only The Monstrous box set as Christmas presents.

If anything, I hope this is the boxset that really gives Big Finish a lot of new customers via fans of the new series.

Yeah, and reduce the ignorance over audio dramas. People need to realise the importance of sound in the Media Industry.

Big Finish has been in the national press several times this year - Terrahawks, John Hurt and Tennant/Tate. The profile is rising.

Audio drama is almost unknown over here. People look at me like I'm speaking a second language when I mention that I listen to audio plays.

I wouldn't know though since I haven't listened to any audio drama podcasts.

Fiction podcasts such as The Black Tapes, Limetown, TANIS and Welcome To Night Vale are absolutely wonderful and highly recommended for fans of audio drama.

One of the best mornings I had in 2015- sitting in Jeremy's kitchen!

Yeah, and reduce the ignorance over audio dramas. People need to realise the importance of sound in the Media Industry. To this point, I do wish BF would take the opportunity to - if not overhaul their web site - include something for idiots like me who had no idea what audio drama was. I'm an American, and I remember NPR playing the Star Wars series when I was a kid. And we have Garrison Keillor. And we have podcasts (now) aplenty. But ... That's pretty much it, unless its a repackaging of an old time radio show. It took me awhile to commit to BF because I just didn't understand it. I think it would be very helpful to have some sort of Audio Drama 101 something right at the get go.
