FWIW that's clarified in subsequent episodes. The weird approach to chronology in this set definitely made it less enjoyable to me, though. I have to say the weird time skipping was what really drew me in. I love this kind of stuff. I think I would have enjoyed this much less if it had been just a straight forward story. I usually love it too. I think Creatures of Beauty is a masterpiece. In that one, Nick uses the non-linear structure to enhance the tension and intrigue of the plot. It just didn't work as well here, and I had so many issues above and beyond the structure of the story.

I’ve just relistened to the bit that I’m really confused by: 35 mins 12secs: Anna and Daisy are on a planet running from a creature This bit -------> 36 mins 9secs: Anna is now alone? Anna is told to reverse the course of the search pod if they want to reach the Human Frontier. Looking for Daisy’s transponder signal 41mins 38secs: Anna and Daisy are trying to get on the Lander craft So at 36 minutes 9 seconds why is Anna now alone, a flashback? I don’t understand the continuity of the story so assumed it could be an editing error. Did I zone out during a critical bit of the story? {Spoiler} Also we never found out what happened to the first Sear, or the flight crew that got abducted (I guess they are on Planet 5) and wish Mr Briggs would abstain from acting in his creations as it always sounds like him - I used to listen to the Big Finish podcast so can instantly recognise his voice. It just wasn’t a satisfying listen A dis-joined memory (probably intentional) Your Spoiler point again is probably international and plausible but again dropping mystery hints is all very well but they have to be dropped in a compelling way, these just weren't. Regards mark687 I wonder if anyone at Big Finish - apart from Nick Briggs - listened to the Human Frontier before its release. Surely it shouldn’t be so confusing. Wish John Dorney was given a BF Original to write, am sure he would have come up with something fantastic!

John was one of the writers on Transference. Ah yes, well remembered. I forgot he wrote one of the stories. Not listened to Transference yet, got it in the BF Originals bundle but based on other comments seems I should actually enjoy this one. Ta.

I genuinely found the Human Frontier to be quite entertaining. The device of contorting the timeline events provides intrigue and the acting performances are all so very good!
The story isn't resolved in volume 1, so if you're expecting more of a standalone ending you will probably be disappointed. I'll definitely be listening to its continuation sequel.

That'll make it three years between releases then -- the first set was also a May release, 2020.
