I genuinely mean it when I say that, yes, some scenes in the earlier episodes are really very very bad - the show was brought forward 6 months against the wishes of the producers who hadn't finalised stories, cast, or even finished some of the sets! - but most of it is great! Honest, guv! And it's got sunshine. And Sandra Sandri. Oh, bless Sandra Sandri.
Actually, perhaps I should review my stand on this. Since last posting, I've seen a few more episodes and while I still maintain Eldorado didn't start badly, it got a lot worse before it got better. The lesser actors are given more prominence and yet have only lukewarm stories to tell, and the incomprehensible broken english makes the scenes drag interminably. Having a soap set in beautiful sunshine and making it dull is some achievement! Still, it's a guilty pleasure and I'm pressing on.
