Just binged about half-a-dozen of their songs on the 'tube - they are great! They are ... and not bad live either. This is probably my most favourite song of the moment, followed by Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap Cheers Tony

I generally prefer live recordings to studio, and I generally prefer the bands who are better live....).

Helen Goldwyn's Do you Believe in Magic with the video by Tom Saunders. The song is beautiful and musically very interesting, I keep replaying it to hear all the harmonies and nuances. The video is also terrific, very moving.

This: www.youtube.com/watch?v=fR3TFoqMmSw7/9/16; Axl starting to recover his voice as compared to the last 10-15 years of fake Gn'R live performances (see ~3:25 going forward), Duff, Slash (and surprisingly, the Izzy stand-in) kicking all sorts of ***, all of it.

Nice guitar playing. I have to say, I haven't commonly seen a guitar played on a lap or stand, as he is doing.

(I do play by touch, my daughter doesn't, but she still wondered about that. I don't look at my fingers when I play at all, I know where I am by feel.)

I don't remember the full story but he had a rare form of cancer when he was a child and he lost his sight. I recall something about being bed ridden for a while so his parents bought him a guitar just so he had something to mess with - that could account for it if he was in bed while learning. Of course that could be an urban myth . If you've ever watched Roadhouse with Patrick Swayze, Jeff's band is the one having bottles thrown at them in the Double Deuce (?) club. I saw him play live in '91 in Germany and then again in England in '92 or '93 - brilliant! Cheers Tony

The story about learning to play while bedridden sounds plausible.
Cool that you got to hear him.

Don't know if anyone on here has heard of Food Wishes. Chef John is a riot.

I'm just at the point Dr Kate Peterson is revealing her true colours - brilliant! Also, Crown Court - an old daytime legal drama - is thoroughly brilliant, not only because of the plethora of classic series Doctor Who actors in it. I was astounded to see The Valeyard as a barrister in one!
