Listened again to the CC Sentinels of the New Dawn and from listening to the extras it sounds very much like we are going to get a sequel about New Dawn (I don't mean Leviathan, I mean a 3rd New Dawn story)... and yet we never got it.
The CC The Child was also meant to be the start of a new trilogy but we never got any more instalments.
Are there many other sequels that were intended/promised that we never got?

I don’t know if a sequel was ever planned, but Real Time certainly ended on a cliffhanger.

I've just listened to that as well and noticed that too. Another Companion Chronicle related one was a third Huxley story. They sounded really keen to bring him back a third time, but it doesn't seem like it's going to happen at this point. I seem to remember hearing/reading somewhere there was going to be a second Sara Kingdom trilogy too, but I may have imagined that.

When I wrote The Eye of the Scorpion I didn't expect Erimem to be staying on as a regular. My thought was that I could revisit her living and studying in contemporary Egypt as the Sixth Doctor got involved in an Indiana Jones-ish story Valley of the Dying Sun. I never got beyond a one paragraph thought for that story but I did nick bits of it for the first Erimem novel, The Last Phaaroh.

Huxley hasn't returned, but Paul Magrs wrote a Radio 4 play about another noveliser from the same planet - tardis.wikia.com/wiki/Imaginary_Boys_(audio_story)

An obvious one is that there was an intention to do more stories featuring Liz Shaw and her mother, Emily, following on from The Last Post. This was sadly prevented by the passing of Caroline John. Dame Emily Shaw did return in The Cloister of Terror, but it wasn't a proper replacement from my perspective.

Even William Russell's character Lord Carlisle who had more encounters with the 5th Dr in his past but the Dr's post-Nyssa future. As Carlisle was younger at the time of these encounters, maybe Jamie Glover could continue his trend of portraying the young William Russell?

I am also fascinated by finding out about the process and the behind the scenes stuff. I'm intrigued by how things happen and how people make them work. Love it!

The 8th Doctor Short Trip The World Beyond the Trees could be considered a sequel-of-sorts to Damascus. Because (fictional) PM Jeremy Thorpe recorded his encounter with the 3rd Doctor on tape, perhaps a full-length Third Doctor Adventure might tie up some loose ends, as we don't really know the true fate of their dramatic fallout.

Dalek Empire 5! Intended or not, the ending of 3 sure makes it sound like there was to be at least another set of stories. The Daleks have the outer colonies. Did the final warning to galaxy center get through? What happened next? Instead, the 4th installment ran parallel to the first two, in the first war.

To this day it drives me crazy that that is how they decided to do Dalek Empire IV, and not actually resolving the story. I have a feeling that when/if we finally do get DE5, it’ll be a Time War series. Which I’ll take, of course, but it’s really not what I want from DE5.

It doesn't drive me crazy, but I wouldn't say no to a Dalek Empire 5 that is a sequel to DE 3.

Top of my list is the ending to The Well Mannered War.
I know it wasn’t their creation, as such, but Big Finish adapted the story for audio. So now I have heard it I want to know what happens next!
