I love how you say ramp up mode when any real information would be a ramp up from the nothing we’ve had so far in terms of official confirmed news.

I love how you say ramp up mode when any real information would be a ramp up from the nothing we’ve had so far in terms of official confirmed news. Well, I said "ready to go into ramp up mode" which is different from "we're in ramp up mode" They were pretty clear it was gonna be a quiet summer while they got on with the business of making the show - Chibnall said as much in his first DWM piece. We're now what? 3 and a bit months away from the show coming back. I'm sure there'll be plenty to fill those months and look forward to now that the show is in post. Trailers, talk shows, merch, PR tours, interviews - it's all coming soon enough. Though it seems the sad trolls are also ready to ramp up - the set just got it's first review...one star.

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

But what about the Season 12 Blu-Ray? Have they lost faith in that? (... steps back...)

For some reason the thread title made me think this was the follow up to the Season 12 (Tom Baker) bluray i.e. they were working backwards into Pertwee... I guess with things being quiet on the new series front, my mind is focussed elsewhere!

I guess with things being quiet on the new series front, my mind is focussed elsewhere! Series for New Who, Season for Classic is the rule of thumb I go by to differentiate - I think it's right! Lee Binding says he's got designs ready for 4 more Classic bluray sets so you may get your wish sooner rather than later!

But what about the Season 12 Blu-Ray? Have they lost faith in that? (... steps back...) I'm sure a certain someone will tell us that if the series flops then they can always rebrand this as The Complete Thirteenth Doctor" and that there probably won't be a Series 12.

Stop showing your ignorance. Well, how did you know I was referring to you? If you don't consider yourself prone to trolling there'd be nothing to recognise in that description! You're the one doing the trolling.

Several posts on this thread have been reported and are currently being discussed by the moderators.
I would like to remind you all that we have a rule about being respectful to each other.
Continuing to flagrantly ignore that rule will and can only result in infractions and even bans being handed out.
Stop baiting each other, stop jumping at the bait and move along.

Reasonable question here. What benefit is there in pre-ordering something that is not a limited edition, such as the forthcoming Goodies complete set (1,000 only, first 500 signed) so far in advance of release?
It just seems to me to be a case of putting ones limited funds into the pockets of the supplier long before a product or goods is available in exchange. Very one-sided. Even in the case of BF 8th Doctor box sets, the pre-order price is applied for a month afterwards. Yes by all means order to get something posted for release day, but months in advance, and before the general retail price has stabilised - more often less than initially billed?

Yes by all means order to get something posted for release day, but months in advance, and before the general retail price has stabilised - more often less than initially billed? There's a few advantages. 1. You get to lock your order in which for the steelbook may well be an important factor. 2. You pay the lowest that the pre-order price ever goes, even if it goes back up again before release (I just saved a 5er on Criterion's Mishima bluray doing exactly that and a few of us here got Series 10 a bit cheaper than everyone else. 3. Amazon don't charge straight away and neither do Zoom or HMV. So you're putting your funds nowhere unless you want to. 4. For Amazon especially you can use gift vouchers and by buying your own pay the item off bit by bit before release. I've done this for expensive items before. 5. With niche products pre-orders often determine whether a release is a success or not. The RT asked people to pre-order the Tom bluray ASAP to justify making more as the margins are tight and it needs to hit well. These don't all apply for every pre-order but they're a few factors at least.

My bad: I wrote the original post that caused the problem. My apologies to all involved and concerned. Moving along now.

And then I suppose the series 12 box set will probably include the 2018 Christmas special. Provided of course there is a 2018 Christmas special.
