It's a little off beat, but I'd highly recommend Leviathan.

Hi all,
Sorry if I've posted this thread in the wrong place.
I'm pretty new to the Big Finish stuff, and being a student, I'm pretty limited on money... So instead of randomly diving in, I'm just wondering if there any standout stories or "must haves", or if anyone has any favourites they could recommend... There's so much, I don't really know where to start...
As for Doctors, I'm familiar with them all... I'm just looking for a good story really. I know it's a pretty subjective question, but it'd be nice to hear your opinions...
Thanks!

Here is a short list from the first 100 main range (best bang for your buck)
Marion Conspiracy Fires of Vulcan Holy Terror Storm Warning Project twilight Eye of the scorpion Colditz The one doctor Chimes of midnight Neverland Bang bang a boom Jubilee Project Lazarus Davros Master Natural history of Fear Arrangements for war The Juggernauts Night thoughts Kingmaker Circular Time Son of the Dragon
You really can’t go wrong with any of these, plus this amount should keep you busy for some time, meaning you can grab more in sales.
I’d also recommend keeping an eye on this listeners deals, it’s occasionally a Doctor who, but this month’s Torchwood is one of the best of the range.

My phones acting up but just a suggestion.
If you go for the first 50 like mark suggested, get 12 story subscriptions.
They still come with a free one disc story that is well worth using to try other ranges.
Edit: you should definitely check out the big finish for free category. There’s a few full stories in there well worth trying.
Last of the titans Ratings War Living Legend No place like home Forever fallen Landbound
The rest are from spin offs or other ranges and really help give a greater sense of what Big Finish is capable of. Unit : The Coup Survivors : Revelations Iris Wildthyme: murder at the abbey Enigma of Dorian Gray Sherlock Holmes: the prophet in the rain. Prisoner: Departure and arrival. Omega Factor: From Beyond. Unit Extinction: Vanguard Countermeasures: Threshold Churchill years: the oncoming storm. Jago and Litefoot: The bloodless soldier

The Holy Terror is my all time favourite Who story (or was till The Doctor Falls gave me pause..) and the usual suspects like Chimes Of Midnight, Spare Parts, Jubilee, Master won't steer you far wrong. And they're all 2.99 on download so on a budget they're perfect. Oh, and The Kingmaker - the best pseudo-historical BF and a total riot.

Search for Doctor Who on Spotify, there's a hell of a lot on there, although you will need to use a PC/tablet or have premium on mobile to listen to the tracks in order.

Thanks - I didn't even realise I did a piece for the Doctor Who Companion on the 8th Doctor and came to the conclusion Spotify is the only way to start. The piece is: here

In addition to the above recommendations, the Short Trips are pretty cheap (£2.99 each) and there are some gems among them. A Full Life is one of the best imo. The two Paul Spragg winners are amazing too (Forever Fallen and Landbound), and free!
Big Finish are quite frequent at doing sales too, so there's usually some bargains to be had.
