Either something is released or not! Surely if it's out for download but not out on CD then it's both released and not released. I imagine Barnabas knows the feeling when it comes to his coffin.

But if it is released, it isn't pre-released, because pre-released means it hasn't yet been released, yet the fact that Episode 1 has been released and publicised as being released would indicate its actual release, rather than if it had been publicised as pre-released, because you could say it has been in a state of pre-release since the dawn of time. I hope I have cleared this up.

So, episode 1 has been released. I have thoughts, as I just listened to it. I was going to try and put the text in white or grey so you can't see it without highlighting it to avoid spoiling anyone but I couldn't seem to get the shade right, so sorry if this is giving away to much information for some..
-I LOVE this new theme song. I was wondering if they'd change it up for this and they had. The organ seems appropriate if we're leading up to a wedding.
-I loved Jackie in Bloodlust so having an episode that focuses mainly on her as she comes back from her trip was great. She's just too much fun.
-Quentin and Leila are still great, not much else to say.
-I knew Harry and Cody had broken up from the promotional material but I'm still wondering why. It'll be interesting to see how this develops.
-Having Cody's actor also play Cody's dad is still a bit disorienting for me and it seems like we'll be getting more of him, if he's really seeing Sherrif Tate.
-Julie Newmar as Julia is.....ok, I guess. I think Im just not used to it just yet, but she's certainly being written like Julia which helps. I'm intrigued but also worried what she and Barnabas have planned- perhaps its some new cure for him? And what happened to her face?
-The strange whisperings at the end, and the trial at the beginning....they must be connected. I seem to recall one of the writers or the producer saying that while Bloodlust was a story about a mystery, Bloodline must be a mystery about a story. Considering the research Tom is doing, and the mysterious book Leila's writing, I'm sure this trial will crop back up and somehow be important.
-Ok I WASN'T expecting Vivian Bell to be Harry's mom. This is going to be really interesting, and is clearly setting up some kind of conflict for him- will he stay with the Collins family, who he doesn't feel a real connection to, or go with his mom? Assuming, of course, that is his mom...
On the whole this episode was really nice. Not a whole lot of plot happened but that doesn't bother me, we're just getting warmed up after all. It was a nice reintroduction to the cast with some great character moments showing why they're so great. 8/10.

See the bit of gossip at the end has me thinking that it may be a possibility that Harry and Cody were getting sh*t for their relationship OR Cody is protecting Harry from something as I don't believe for a second Harry broke up with Cody. I also love Tom and can't wait for the inevitable werewolf stuff. I wonder if we're in for some time travel with the trial? It's obviously overseen by a Jerry Lacy character so it could be another Trask. Out there prediction but it may be 1795 all over again and somehow Vicki's going to be involved.

I could swear they'd given the judge a name in the episode, I'll have to double check. EDIT: Yes, he's given a name- the honorable Matthew Young. He may still be related to the Trasks (perhaps his mother was one) but I think it's possible they needed someone to play the judge so got Jerry Lacey to do it. Also going through some of what others have said-I totally forgot about the mysterious thing Cody found in the back of the Blue Whale! I'm wondering about that. A pregnancy test is certainly possible, I guess, although I always kinda assumed Jessica was at least in her 40s- her son is fully grown after all. And I didn't just mean the gossip. Right after the gossip there was a bit of mysterious whispering, someone proclaiming that they would be free or something like that. It was odd. Unless I somehow imagined it. Also- I kind of doubt The sheriff and Cody's dad are up to something supernatural. It may just be a good old fashioned soap-opera affair. I can't imagine Rhonda getting involved in magic or witchcraft by choice. That line in that interview I mentioned earlier about Bloodline being a "mystery about a story" does suggest that there might be time travel, but who knows. Usually time travel plots on the show were done to introduce a completely new storyline- I kind of suspect if there is going to be time travel, it will be only for an episode or two.

still nothing in my account either......done the log out and back in thing but nothing changed..... are they not allowing us to access the week releases if we ordered the bundle this time? if so boo on you BF No, if you bought the bundles/Volumes, they appear. If you go into your account, and scroll down to your downloads, change the third dropdown box from "Released" to "Pre-Releases" and then click the Filter Now button. After the page has refreshed with the new filter settings, scroll down to (or Ctrl-F to) your Bloodline preorder and it'll be a link on the right-hand side. Note that this does not work in the app - app availability will follow once the full Volumes are released. If it's still not there, I would recommend reaching out to Big Finish. I bought the bundle version, and that's how it works for me, so I can confirm that it does work. If yours isn't there, there has to be a problem. Got it......thanks........ downloaded to mp3player, just as easy as app......

I believe they called the judge Matthew Young...but it's a Jerry Lacy character so either it's a Trask or the writers are playing a dangerous game. I wouldn't be surprised if Rhonda and Cody's dad are being controlled or dealing with something they don't realize (I'm still gunning for Adam from the TV show to appear at one point) I heard the whispering too, but I don't think we have much information on what it could be except whatever's in Barnabas' crate, though that might just be his coffin with the measurements given by Jackie to Julia.

Well, here we go, and... David Darlington continues to do creative and interesting things with the theme music. Very nice.
Uh oh, Vivian Bell sounds British, the poor thing. Maybe it's just me, but I only had to hear the voice for five seconds to think Kate Ripperton all over again.
How wonderful to hear all of these characters together in an audio.
Hey, that doesn't sound like Julia Hoffman :-) - and David doesn't even notice! How very mysterious.
Ursula Burton directing, yay!
Was that a little bit subdued for an Alan Flanagan story? Yet a really good story it was.
So that was a fantastic start to the series, and a lot of really intriguing things to wonder about. Very much looking forward to finding out more next time.

I mean, I kinda know what's going to happen and I may have heard bits and bobs, but I'M SO EXCITED and I'm listening to it loud in my front room in surround sound and it's glorious and I'm in love with Jackie Tate and perhaps a little with Tom Cunningham... and now I'm a little in awe of Alan and Rob and Aaron and Will and Joe and Davy and IS IT NEXT TUESDAY YET?

I hope I have cleared this up. Yeah, it seems odd but I worked it out. I ordered the CD. The CD has not been released, so the episodes are pre-release content from the unreleased CD. I wonder if people bought the episodes download only have them in the regular account method? In any case, they are hoping to have a more user-friendly download option ASAP - it would be hard to be less user-friendly! I never knew there was a list of pre-release orders available until today!

A wonderful first episode! Mysteries and questions galore. And every character feels like "home"! I love this serial format.
