At this point I've got a (totally baseless) theory that the BBC's block on releasing #50 lifts in the new year and Big Finish is waiting until 2022 to announce the next three audios so they can bury an update on Absent Friends in the press release.
I'll probably be proven very wrong by the end of the week.

Bit of an Update Numbers 58 and 59 are now listed as having been Recorded the 1st week of September, no other details and nothing at all for Number 60. Regards mark687 I just realised #58 is out next month so that could be as early as next week.. still no title/cover art/cast list..

There was mention of an Intergram Post by Kai Owen (Rhys) that he'd done something. and James Masters apparently mentioned at Wales Comi-Con that he was recording imminently. Regards mark687

Here’s hoping that we finally get that much desired Tosh/Owen two hander story come next year.

Kai Owen posted on his Instagram story back on 3rd November that he'd recorded a new Torchwood story, including a photo of the script, which showed that the story was called Sonny and it was written by Lizzie Hopley (great news, as I really enjoyed her previous TW story, The Dying Room). Edit to add: {Spoiler}'Sonny' was also the name of the Weevil in Corpse Day. Perhaps this isn't coincidence...? As this was posted in November, and releases 58 and 59 had by that point already been revealed to have been recorded in September, it seems likely that this is release #60. I took a screenshot of the post, and if anyone can let me know how to insert an image on this forum, I'll do so if anyone's interested. I quite like horatiowatson 's theory that the Absent Friends ban lifts in the new year. Here's hoping...

Hmm, the complete lack of information on the monthlies at the moment is a bit peculiar and reshuffling of the schedule is curious. Hopefully all will become clear soon.

Well, we're 2 days away from January and still have no news on next year's TW stories. Perhaps the release date for #60 was changed in advance of an announcement later today?

Maybe the 60th is gonna be something special to make up for the removal of the 50th and they need more time to put it together...Or it's something else.
Either way, March is going to be strange if it's Absent a Torchwood audio release from our Friends at Big Finish.

That would make sense and sync up the release numbers again. Right now, the "60" Torchwood audio according to the website is actually the 59th in terms of release. If they put out Absent Friends in March, #60 in April becomes the 60th for real and they can give it the fanfare the 50th was meant to have the first time round.

From the new issue of Vortex, Torchwood 58 is called Cadoc Point and Torchwood 59 is Sonny.

From the new issue of Vortex, Torchwood 58 is called Cadoc Point and Torchwood 59 is Sonny. It also states that March will see release #60, and #61 will follow in April. However, I think this issue of Vortex was written before release #60 moved to April. I'm still betting that we'll get Absent Friends in March, release #60 in April, and then another set of 12 monthlies starting in May.
