I think this is the comment they’re referring to, by TomeDeaf95- “That's 8 out of 12 monthlies this year by him, isn't it? And he had a hand in the ninth - the Yvonne Hartman one - as one of the three co-writers, and there's a December slot left unannounced that could be him as well! Bit of a shame when this used to be where we got the most diverse range of voices (and previously Goss had done no more than 3 in any one year), and now it's practically just one bloke churning them all out. But then I've heard... things about what Goss and Handcock are like to work with, and so I'm not entirely surprised most of these writers have gone on to do other things in other parts of the company, or just not come back at all.” The user doesn’t really elaborate on what they’ve heard exactly, so take it as you will. FWIW I've also heard this rumor from another source (It's supposedly why Hostile Environment was written by a pseudonym, and why Instant Karma has 3 writers credited).

Jonathan Morris has personally said that he fell ill during writing Instant Karma, Llewellyn and Goss had to do one of the rewrites and he wanted to make sure their contribution was acknowledged: underthreehundred.blogspot.com/2018/07/karma-killer.htmlSo, y'know, hard not to think that whoever was pointing to that release as an example of Goss being difficult to work with was a big fat liar.

I have no insider knowledge but I feel like if it got to the point where they were so difficult that Goss had to write 9/12 releases because it was impossible to find people to work with them then Big Finish would just get new a producer and director. I always just assumed Goss wrote so much because they needed new scripts at short notice for either covid recording or when new actors were available at short notice.

In my personal experience, James Goss isn't difficult to work with at all. He was always polite and always made it clear what he wanted out of rewrites. I'd work with him again any day.

Just thinking . . .
Why have BF not re-numbered another upcoming release as no. 50 amd put it out as the Absent Friends replacement. There are releases coming out now that were not announced at the time (and presumably CD covers not printed) so surely they could have put out a replacement #50 by now, even if it meant everything else was knocked back 1 month?
Makes me think they are not minded to do so and are keeping their fingers crossed they will be able to release it after all. Maybe if JB is "rehabilitated" by being back on TV in some capacity.

As I said the other week, if and until BF announce a Sub for Release NO 61 onward they don't have to do anything, admittedly given they can give a definite public statement that will will still honor the outstanding unreleased Dryfuss Master story, very surprised they haven't done the the same for TW Absent Friends. Regards mark687 I dont think they can leave it too long. People who have prepaid cant be expected to wait forever. What is reasonable under the circumstances? If they are gojng to bring out a replacement #50 then in my view any time up to the month after release #60 is reasonable. Beyond that, it starts to become unreasonably delayed

I thinik they've just got to do what the BBC tells them to do, including "shut up and don't say anythiung until we tell you too".

He mentioned it to me at Wales Comic Con after I mentioned that I was happy that he'd reprised the role for BF. To me it sounded like it'll probably be a monthly story because he said "I'm doing another one"... although he could mean another one as in a set, so... we'll see!

I'm really surprised we haven't had any information about the first few 2022 releases yet.
We unofficially know that James Marsters is doing a Torchwood audio, but don't know for sure that it's a monthly range story or when it'll be released. I've also heard rumours that Kai Owen has been recording lately, but the same goes.
Last year we had the titles and principal cast members all the way through March announced at the start of November, so the lack of information at this point seems odd. I know there are many possible explanations and they don't have to announce things to anyone's schedule if they don't want to. But I can't help wondering if this is because there's something big coming which they need to dot-and-cross first.

Given it’s mid-December and we have no idea what’s coming next month 🤷🏻♂️ I’m waiting to find out about MR50 as well as 58-60. I’d love to resubscribe for another year, but there’s no option to do so.

Bit of an Update Numbers 58 and 59 are now listed as having been Recorded the 1st week of September, no other details and nothing at all for Number 60.
