Just listened to the first disc so far. I was in my car listening to the music suite. The whole car was vibrating from the bass.

Another solid outing for ole Sixey & Constance, the trilogy on the whole has been a strong one with Criss-Cross being my favourite of the three stories.

I really liked this story. The character performances were the strongest aspect, and there were some clever ideas written into the script. The music was almost cinematic, or perhaps akin to the soundtrack for some of the high-end video games.
It was, however, a bit of a bog-standard base under siege story, without much real surprise in the storyline or action. And awkward "American" accents.
Still, I think it was the strongest story (overall) of the latest trilogy, with only the first episode of Planet of the Rani outshining it.

I liked this story. I enjoyed the story-within-a-story aspect. as far as the American accents go, the woman's was all right. The men's too wild west. To my American ears Hugo sounded rather old so it made the fact that {Spoiler} He and Lisa had once been an item Seem unlikely During the scenes with the oracle/seer all I could think of was The Thirteenth Warrior. I like how the message was cryptic and they had to figure it out, as is often the case in Classical mythology.

I really, really enjoyed this, even if I felt that the final episode didn't quite live upto the build-up of the preceding ones (not the only time this has happened by any means). It's refreshing to hear a new voice on the main range. Somehow, despite the excellence of the regular writers, a break from the regularity is a good thing, style-wise. The story is fizzing with great dialogue, especially that given to The Doctor, and Colin performs it with his customary brilliance. Loved the snowy setting, loved the idea of the central monster. A belter.

While I really quite liked this one, I was a wee bit sad that we've got the GREAT Ian Edginton writing for Big Finish and it's not a steampunk story.
He'd be perfect for Jago And Litefoot.

I'm also don't know about the Doctor never being able to find the kitchen(s)... it might be a nice gag that the companions have no problem finding it, but he can't though. I think I'm willing to believe that. It might have been an interesting line to throw in - "Evelyn had no problem finding it, mind you."

Evelyn mentions the kitchen in Project: Lazarus, saying she always find the exact same quantity of ingredients each morning. She had to make her chocolate sponge somewhere! Tegan and Turlough use it off-screen in The Five Doctors. The DWM comic strip Stick and Stones shows Amy in the kitchen (no "where she belongs" jokes please) meeting the Doctor's culinary challenge. The Seventh Doctor has found has found and used the kitchen in Afterlife, preparing pancakes to try and console Ace from the recent tragedy (naturally the presentation includes spoons).

I just finished listening to this. I'm reminded of MR004 "The Land of the Dead."
Edit: The Spectre of Lanyon Moor too, probably. How much am I confusing those two?

I'm surprised no one has created a fan cover for the Constance series with her in the WREN uniform each story is explicit she's wearing.

Did you spot who played the uncredited cameo role of the Vikings' Oracle? I thought that was a very nice bonus for fans.
