I love the way this series is giving another new 'style' to our 55 year-old show. This story might just have fitted into RTD's era but would have been a little out-of-place, and would not at all have fitted into Steven Moffat's style. The old thing never stops evolving. I love it. That's what finding this series so far as well its general tone could fit at any time prior to Moffatt .

Funnily enough, I could see this episode almost fitting in with Sylvester's era, and maybe Hartnell's too, but none of the others really.

Also this series feels so odd It’s 2018 and like we’ve not had an episode like this or the doctor just make their sonic on the go or get clothes from a junk shop It’s brand new yet feels like it should have happened long ago If that makes any sense 🙃

Its fresh but at the time familiar almost the Big Finish vibe.
Paz summed it up better

Hello again.
There is a very prevalent moral dimension so far. The dicussion on ethnic cleansing and the destructive use of science by the military would not be out of place in the Pertwee era. Rosa, a story about the Civil Rights Movement and now the decisions of an individual affect history. Rosa, would have had even more resonance in the 1970s.
Creating a sonic screwdriver from scratch is something the Third Doctor would have relished.
The TARDIS team has a different dynamic than we have seen for a while. It's a team I feel will gel even more as time goes on. I enjoyed the way Yaz created a police incident board in Rosa and the way Ryan and Graham use their practical skills and experience to solve problems. It is a while since we have seen such capable companions.
The storytelling is much slower than has been common for NuWho. Character is more important than plot. In Rosa for example, where did Ryan send the criminal time traveller? The ramifications of that first episode still resonates and the TARDIS has rediscovered its wayward streak.
Rosa was very good. I like Jodie's Doctor, the TARDIS crew are real and likeable and the look and sound of the show is excellent.
So far, I haven't got a handle on this iteration of Who. I am waiting for a Human Nature or an Empty Child or a Midnight but I'm hoping it's only a matter of time.

It may not have been a pure historical, but it was, basically, Time Meddler 2.0, where the fantasy is light and the onus is on the situation.

On Krasko: one the one hand, yeah, he was kinda thin and they probably overdid it with the 'no-kill chip' (he could just have a sense of sport about messing up history).
On the other hand, it's refreshing how low-key and not grand-stand-y he was about his motivations or plans. He's just a malignant slimeball who's petty. He' not out for pwoer or a mercenary with a convoluted plan: he's just a bad egg with no regard for the universe. Plus, they didn't overdo the racist element that could've mucked the tone or gravity of the piece: he's not screeching about eugenics or partying with the KKK, he just has this monstrous dimension that as normal as day to him.

I feel like with Rosa we got the first great episode of the 13th Doctor era. This was historical Doctor Who done right. I love how the production team did not shy away from the sheer ugliness of the period. Production design was, again, fantastic. The TARDIS team is really coming together. Whittaker continues to command the role. Loved the Banksy gag. Loved Ryan in the house with Parks and King. Loved Parks and Yaz's scene together. Loved the face-offs between 13 and the Traveler. I also think it was kind of perfect that Ryan just sent the Traveler elsewhere. I don't know that will see him again. Or that we need to. That said, we could totally see him again. This is certainly a much less bombastic Doctor Who then we have seen in the modern era. Very much the Who from the creator of Broadchurch. The pace is a bit slower than we are used to and this particular episode did feature a more balanced mix of plot & character. Oh and I think Ryan refused the fist bump out of total embarrassment. Graham will never be that cool. I thought it was pretty funny. I didn't mind the pop song at the end, again this is a slightly different Doctor Who but over the credits was a bit much. Also, I really loved the scoring on this episode. Man, I really loved a lot of things about this episode. The only thing that really bugged me is I'm not completely sold on the time crystal in the certain of the console. It looked a wee bit wobbly to me going up & down. Otherwise, top marks. Easily my favorite episode of the first three.

Definitely the best of the three episodes so far, and one I will certainly be re-watching soon!

To elaborate on this version of Doctor Who being less bombastic than the previous NuWho Doctors, look no further than the first confrontation between Krasko & 13 on the top of the bus. Under RTD & Moffat we would have gotten the I'm the Doctor, the last survivor of Gallifrey, The Oncoming Storm, I'm the one with the great eyebrows and you better not mess with me or blah blah blah speech but under new management we got a fairly simple, "Don't threaten me." Right there is where we should all see new blood is involved. Don't get me wrong. I love a rousing I'm the good guy speech but this was simple. Direct. Understated. It was a nice change of pace.

Really powerful stuff. I didn’t expect the language, or the Doctor and co actually being present for events, but I think the story is better off for the inclusion of both. This TARDIS time continue to shine and the Doctor is racking up quite the list of foes in this incarnation. They’re all out in the universe somewhere, plotting their revenge, I’m sure!
Certainly a story to remember.

Rather well done, overall, (and Bradley Walsh continues to be the best thing in the show) but a shame they presented the protest as though it was a spontaneous decision, whereas I'd been given to understand it was carefully planned by committee. (Yaz being mistake for Mexican also reminded me of the... inconsistent manner in which Titan's artists colour Gabby Gonzalez) I think the meeting scene was meant to indicate it wasn't entirely spontaneous.
Also, Yaz got more focus this time: we got to see more of her organizational and investigative aptitude from her police work. She even got to sort all the details together on a bulletin board in the hotel.

Best one so far. Little wobble with the space bit at the end but overall, pulled off very well.
Grim times, back then.
