Solid 1st Doctor Fare perhaps one of the key themes was pushed slightly too far?

I say hats off to both Steven Purves and Frazer Hines with their renditions of both the first and the second doctors they really do enhance these productions. When i was listening to the Doctors arguments at the end of the Ideal World i forgot it was Steven narrating its great when an actor can make you forget

Great first part. Atmospheric and intriguing. With a 36 minute running time, and it looks like 38 minutes for part two, I wish these had been turned into six parters. Same for The Dalek Occupation of Winter.

Good stuff. Not as memorable as The Dalek Occupation of Winter, but a solid and welcomed instalment in this miniseries. The ongoing discussion between the Doctor, Vicki and Steven at the end is a little heavy handed, but it’s engaging nonetheless.
I loved the little moment in Part Two, where the Doctor makes notes in his book to ensure Vicki and Steven get back to the TARDIS and can get away. That was really sweet.
Bring on the next one!

The Doctor was sidelined a little too long for me & i agree with shallacatolp comments about the heavy handed dialogue at the end but what i enjoyed about this & the previous release is that there's no syrupy happy endings to the stories & are not afraid to show that rash actions can have dramatic consequences.

I enjoyed the dialogue at the end i found it better than the Doctor teaches her companions a history lesson at the end of Rosa

Listened this week. I enjoyed it - struck me as a 1960s Hartnell version of a Hinchcliffe chiller. The factotums reminded me of Zen/Orac from Blake's 7
Overall a good listen. Recommended!
