But one thing I have to say I was very impressed with in the UK- Trains!!!!! When they are not on strike, trains run on time, they are like clockwork and I made all my trains and connections while in the UK.
People who say how wonderful continental trains are tend to travel on one daytime service between two large towns and try and compare it with a crowded British commuter train. Every time I read about continental trains - tickets can't be used on different operators, villages get one train a day, everything stops at 11:30 at night, trains regularly come in after the station has shut, trains stop at the border - I remember how much worse things can be than just being crowded and expensive. There are, in this country, people who reckon two trains an hour is scandalously few.... where I used to live, we had three buses a day each way.

Not: Had to finish work early after getting my thumb caught in a hand crank. No major injuries thankfully, but throbbing like crazy and pretty much unable to even hold a pen. And in that moment, I strung together quite a flurry of swear words in quite a creative combo.

Sounds pretty much like where I am from- a small village in rural Germany.

Ok.. A bit of Australian Economics and Finance now.. The last 11-13 years the national interest rates have been very steady, the RBA (Reserve Bank of Australia) has held steady.. The last 2-3 years of u-know-what hasn't helped, house prices here the last 18 months have skyrocketed Hugely- meaning if you are selling your property you can get an extra $100K-$500K easily, it's harder for people to purchase who are just trying to get into the Real Estate Market and buy their 1st home. Since June 1st 2022, we have had 9 monthly consecutive rate increases (they don't include January as they don't have their annual Finance meeting then).. Just done some sums and that means our Mortgage has increased by AUST $331 per fortnight.. ( EURO $215 - UK Pound $191 - USA $229 per fortnight).. We have had our Mortgage for 16 years and we have always way over paid every fortnight to build up the equity/LVR (land to value ratio). We had all our utility bills way in advance up to at least 1 year (if we had to divert funds for emergencies we just stopped overpaying some utility bills).. Now it's getting "interesting" .. So BF purchases at the moment are not 1st or 2nd priority till we sit down this week and go through our budgeting again- always over pay mortgage, always put some away in savings, pay utilities then left over is for hobbies etc.. There are people in their early 20's with $500 - $800K mortgages that have increased about $800 per month..! The next 12 months will be interesting as I know for a fact there will 101% be at least another 2 increases.. The Government is basically trying to prevent Australia going into a recession like we had in the Very early 90's. That's 2 Financial Quarters with negative growth. Basically, people need to stop all the extraneous "fun/hobbies/retail" spending and hit their mortgages hard.. When that sector settles down a bit that's when the interest rates And the RIDICULOUS high property prices will go down, we basically went from the last 3-4 years of 1-3% now just over 6%.. The Rental situation for those who rent is horrible.. There are people getting Personal Loans just to afford the rent.. Open Inspections have literally hundreds applying - there are families now living in tents/their cars because they can't afford rent.. Fun Times NOT.. !

Almost 24 hours ago I was on the bus going to work chatting to a couple mates on FB Messenger.. All of a sudden a case of vertigo kicked in a couple stops before mine. Was interesting walking through the city leaning to the left as if I had a bit too much to drunk.. I am still feeling it now as I type, yesterday was an "interesting" day at work. Hope it goes away soon.

Question- do you also have a bit of a stiff neck? I had the same thing happen to me 2 years ago, with vertigo and not walking in straight lines, and waited a couple of weeks and did not get better.... and then made the decision to see the magical osteopath in the spa clinic up the hill and he miraculously healed me in 5 seconds by re-adjusting my neck.

Guess who is going to work in their costume tomorrow? Hardly anything to laugh anyways, so I will at least bring some colour in wearing my Sixie coat. Plus, after work heading for the kids birthday party of my little niece. Win-win.
