Question for any tech savvy forumers.
I have a work iPad, is there a double adapter type cord/device I can buy to plug in so I can both use my ear buds and recharge and listen to my audio stories and music 8 hours a day at the same time?

Yes. You can buy a double Lightning connector adapter cheap enough, if that's what you mean. There might be an official Apple one that would, of course, be a bit dearer. There are plenty of third party adapters for most connections in regards to iPads; lightning/lightning, lightning/3.5mm, lightning/usb (etc.)

Delayed posting about Thursday (the most eventful day of recent weeks)
The good - Got an all clear from the first test of bowel cancer, Had a look around the Unofficial galaxies Star Wars memorabillia exhibition at my local cathedral (the Dean is a big Star Wars fan).
the bad - had a dental check up and apparently I have an abscess meaning more painful appointments to come and while walking home I felt a sudden sharp pain in my forhead and saw a wasp flying away... (the rest of the walk home was very unpleasant)

What made my day/weekend: LI Who and my Gary Russell interview!!! Oh wow, was it fun! And Gary is awesome (yes, I call him Gary now). He was a joy to interview and we chatted a few times throughout the weekend. He was insistent I go to Gallifrey One in Feb, but I have no idea how I could swing that. I will share more about the weekend and the interview as I can, but now I am just wiped out and need to sleep. But it was a phenomenal weekend.

Totally stoked: I got tickets for the Powerwolf concert on Saturday. Yay!! Powerwolf is a German Power Metal band who act and dress up like religious werewolves. The concert is in a real medieval monastery. Honestly, no better setting possible. Definitely made my day. Looking forward to the weekend. It is a 2-3 hour drive, but I think it will be worth it.

It is a 2-3 hour drive, but I think it will be worth it. religious werewolves? Intriguing. They do not take themselves too seriously and most of their songs are just for fun. They do however have a few serious messages packed in some "over-the-top / hilarious" songs. One of their main issues they sing about is sexual abuse / power abuse / misconduct in the Catholic Church. They do however also have a song about the insanity of religious suicide bombers, or one about the KKK.
They are not so much a satanic / blasphemous band, more a band about pointing out some serious problems that have been ignored for far to long.
The whole band is a huge metaphor- they call themselves "Lupus Dei" (Wolf of God) as opposed to the Christian "Agnus Dei" (Lamb of God). Wolves in sheep skin, so to speak.
Style is Power Metal with some Symphonic Metal sprinkled in.
The main singer is a trained opera singer and man, that guy can sing. They are famous for their amazing live shows- they have plenty of pyro, even a church organ that shoots fire.
Recommended.

There's about 1/2 a dozen metal bands I listen to who are trained opera singers - the power of the metal backing the epic voice is the best!
Metal is know for it's indepth lyrical content I could site hundreds of examples over the decades. It's nice to have the legit serious topics interspersed with the fun songs.
Iron Maiden have for the last 45+ years written historical factual epics on every album - they send kids to the library (olden days) to look up History.
Have HUGE fun there and sing till your hoarse !

Was planning to get tickets from Extreme's UK tour for me and a friend, but had to scrap that as for whatever reason the only tickets left cost around £160. I mean wtf. This is in The Civic Hall in Wolverhampton, not the Utilita In Birmingham.
Annoyed

Finally had my yearly PDR (Performance Development Review). Financial year in OZ is 1st July to June 30th. My original Manager had her last day 1st May so my new Manager who I was literally in the same office as for the last 2 years took over. The form we fill out is 19 pages you basically tick a lot of boxes on what level you think you are and a "brief" 1-2 sentence description/explanation. Nope. AussieDoctorWhoFan writes 2-3 paragraphs per section explaining eveything related to the question past, what I have been doing presently and where I want it to go in the future, plus attaching diagrams/proof/examples etc. My old Manager used to comment "Shane, why do you do this?" every year. Every year the same response.. "Tania.. if I don't church myself up with factual evidence- who will?". He 1stly mentioned how "thorough" I am with assisting other Departments as their errors always filter down to my area- I took it upon myself to assist them daily etc whenever needed- I told him purely selfish reasons, so I don't have to add to my workload and for them to be more efficient. I told him my self motivation/self OCD in doing everything correct the 1st time every time is purely motivated by laziness , so I can "relax" more throughout the day and not be buried by excessive work that shouldn't occur. Straight to the point. He completely agreed with me HAHA, In the meeting you sit in front of a PC and go through everything 1 by 1- the Managers are supposed to write their input after ours. He didn't, he wrote a 1 page glowing reference. A few lines : "I wish to commend Shane on the work he has achieved in the past 12 months, noting I took over the Managers role in May 2023" "I am fortunate to work close to Shane I can confirm that his professional manner both internally, and with the Australian population, is commendable. His phone, email and face to face manner, and ability to genuinely empathise and also be hard when need be is a source of great admiration for the Company" "Shane has received numerous positive feedbacks both internally and externally, further supporting my comments above" (I am on award 16 so far). "A great 12 months, we appreciate mentoring and continuing to manage Brittanie's role with no fuss, and at the same time maintaining a consistent high standard." "To conclude, I would like to throw my support behind Shane receiving his full bonus entitlement this current year. Thank you" He also brought up, I didn't know this, when our Executive Manager and his/our boss, the CEO had their 6 monthly Legal Audit meeting with another Government Department... they queried the statistics/tables/charts/figures. Now he, our Executive Manager, has more University degrees than a thermometer and is not known for verbally handing out praise. He basically said "yes, the figures are correct, we have held strong and firm thanks to my staff." Meaning me, as my team mate was on 8 months Maternity Leave. So next week will get my yearly pay rise and the bonus. Made My Day, My Week, My Month.. and even My Year !

You basically saved their bacon several times. They should bow down to you and lick your feet.

When I finally get the go ahead in my intranet it's locked in I should print it off and email it to you.. I don't do "I did good work for the past 12 months" and leave it like that. Evidence based responses LOLZ..
