Was just told that "Big Chief Studios" is closing down. No more 12" Doctor Who figures.. Not so much "closing" more "closed". They've ceased trading, stating they were bought to this by the cost of living crisis, the economic downturn and delays in the manufacturing processes. The company is now in the hands of the official receivers. Which means the ones I really feel sorry for are the customers who have paid deposits for figures they'll now not receive. They will have to deal with the receivers so there is a chance they might get some of their deposit back, but in the hierarchy of priority they are below those who Big Chief Studios have debts with.

My nephew and his wife welcomed a big, beautiful baby girl last Friday. They broke the streak of Doctor Who companion names for babies in my family. Lydia Grey Francis. She's got a couple of wonderful parents. Congratulations Auntie elka! 🍼🐥🍾 (and of course the parents too...)

Well I'm p****d. The Last Voyage of the Demeter film is the first mainstream film I've been looking forward to seeing in a long, long time and was due for release August 11 (yesterday) in cinemas worldwide, and was promoted as such. Due to Lionsgate 'deciding to put the film on hold', this wonderful looking production has been postponed indeifinitey here in the UK. After all the work that's gone into making it look so good, all the advertising - and all the money - how can they suddenly decide not to release, and why only in the UK? Unbelievable.

I admit I'm disappointed too that Demeter has been indefinitely delayed. An article in the Hollywood Reporter suggests that EOne (the UK distributors of the film) were purchased by Lionsgate which put the release on hold, and the US regulations hint that the deal won't be finalised until at least the end of the year. Hopefully Demeter will get a UK release in time for the 127th anniversary of the book's publication next year...but until the final handshake on the deal....

It is being distributed by Universal in the US.

I'd have liked the chance to make up my own mind. Del Toro and Stephen King really liked it, so there's that too.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=H9Q1YnWXjmASo called "sovereign citizens".. This footage was taken in the Adelaide Courts in my hometown, literally 2 streets from my work.. Filming is 101% not/never allowed so interesting. I watch these types of video's regularly, it never ends well- even so in USA.. "I am not driving my car I am (travelling/traversing/moving) in my car. Arrested. case closed LOLZ

It seems just a bit of inexplicable bad luck for the UK. At least if the film ever does get a release here, then there may be additional interest in it due to the long wait.

I don't know whether it's "Crap" but it certainly doesn't sound like it has much to do with the book. Might be better off with the earlier radio version, currently available on BBC Sounds www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/b00vk23h I'm sure timeleschild at least will prefer this version

But I will check out the link thank you

"Thank you for letting us know about an unnecessarily rude train-guard, but, as you were a witness & not the person he was rude to?... Nothing doing."
Oh well South Western Railway, I tried...

I met Anson Mount this weekend! I was at the Edmonton Folk Festival this year and ended up being in line with him at the Beer Gardens. Chatted for a bit, got a picture etc, but the best part was seeing how much he is just Pike in real life. Past him a couple of times over the rest of the weekend, and he nodded a quick hello, which was very nice as well.
