Just bought tickets for a METAL concert which happens near my place end of September. I never have been to a Metal concert, and will stick out there like a sore pinky toe, but hey, I do not fit anywhere anyways, so I thought, what the heck. Just do this. Also bought the necessary black band T-Shirt and two mean black leather wristbands (with a wolf and a raven on it). The band is Wind Rose. I know, purists will find this painful, since these guys do not take themselves very seriously and really play the whole dwarf thing cheesy and over-the-top, but I think that makes them fun. And I am not a purist. I also like most of their songs, especially the Warhammer and Lord of the Rings stuff. This is just a concert that happens close-by, the tickets are modest and affordable and it will be something new and completely different for me to experience. And yes, there are better and more famous bands, but I also like to keep my kidney and not sell it off to afford tickets, thank you very much.

Have fun , last night I saw a legendary metal band called "Incantation" just 4 working class guys who grew up on the 70's rock classics - celebrating 30 years of their 1st album release.
You know how many metal concerts I go to- they are the most accepting group of people. Anyone falls down in the pit they form a circle and help them up, any female starts getting harassed - the guy gets dealt with.
1/2 the time the bands go out into the crowd to chat with the crowd.

Today will be day 5 of returning from my much much needed Annual Leave. As predicted, was chaos when I came back. To try and smooth things over (as something bad happened that shouldn't have while I was away, and a member of the public put in an official complaint) - I was taken out 2 days in a row to the Central Markets ( tuigirl you know this place !) for coffees. I also received another compliment of gratitude from a woman I helped last month - basically she was in a D.V. and Financial Abuse situation at the same time, managed to help her and the baby get to safety and move on with their lives.. Received my award certification yesterday morning. Don't Sweat The Small Stuff - Always remember there is someone else possibly near you, who has it way worse off then you and are doing everything possible to not "present" this.

7news.com.au/business/retail/disney-to-stop-releasing-dvds-and-blu-ray-discs-in-major-change-for-australian-customers--c-11414857"Australian Disney fans looking to add to their movie collection will have to get in quickly as the entertainment giant moves to stop releasing DVDs and Blu-ray discs nationally. The Walt Disney Company confirmed it is pulling out of Australia’s physical media market, and the limited number of Australian and New Zealand stockists will no longer receive DVDs after Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 3." "Previously released titles are expected to be available while local retailers sell down their existing stock. Once sold out, Australian Disney fans keen to get their hands on a DVD will have to turn to international online retailers." So this means, from what I can gather.. Marvel, 20th Century Fox and Disney (which means Doctor Who!) The powers that be are totally oblivious to how high the rate of torrenting is in the country for reasons we are still experiencing (Price$ of everything here are higher than normal even when factoring in UK/USA conversions - which is what I and other Aussies here have been saying all along- )

So you remember a few days ago I bought tickets for a Metal concert? Well, the venue is close to where I live, in the middle of the forest in rural Germany. Imagine trees. Anyways, I looked up their event calendar, and they have some really great shows coming up. They also have a joint event of two Power-Metal bands coming up that apparently are quite famous. I checked them out and I really like their music. I also bought tickets for that concert, since I think it will be a great opportunity and with their great lyrics and rhythm there will be some great vibes (and you can sing along!).
aussiedoctorwhofan told me that one of the bands is also playing all the big cities in Australia in November.
Well, they play all the big cities here in Europe.
They will play in Stockholm, Oslo, Paris, London, Zurich, Vienna, Munich- and- GEISELWIND. Which is a small village in a forest in the middle of nowhere.
This is the music equivalent of "Arson, Murder and Jaywalking".
I am a bit baffled, but hey, it is a 40 min drive from where I live and I get to see a great show. Without having to leave my forest.
EDIT: Why am I even doing these things? Isn't this a bit weird? Short answer- it is pure escapism. It is that simple. It will be a new experience with doing something wildly different.
Just hope in February, when the event is taking place, we won't have ice and snow. Because that is deadly on the small and windy backcountry forest roads.

We will spiritually be at the same band gig together, albeit a few months apart !

Yesterday we went to a cousin's 100th birthday party. It was lovely, and she's just amazing.

So it looks like facebook/messenger/twitter(?) were all hacked down under for about 15 minutes. 3 mates of mine (2 weren't even logged in) and myself received a hack type msg with a lot of Chinese symbols.. I just tried to log out of both apps and rebooted my iphone 2 times..
Anyone have this issue in the last 30 odd minutes?

Back spasms, imbeciles sorting uncles estate & being nagged by my mom every 5 minutes to keep sending emails to find out when getting money & inheritance.
On Tuesday something snapped inside me left me feeling numb & after visiting my GP I have had a minor breakdown.
Mom moaning I'm a weak man with no backbone so I told her to f..k off & downed tools so no more taxing her around, no helping with housework until I get treated with a bit of respect & understanding.
My life sucks at the moment.

It really is so soul-destroying when you family does not even make a tiny effort to understand you, less alone give you any emotional support.

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

My wife and I have both been struck down by a dose of flu this week. She has been pretty much bedridden and feverish since about Monday, while I’ve had a terrible cough and croaky throat the whole week. I’d have stayed home from work myself but aside from the lack of voice I can carry on and I don’t need the voice all that much at the moment as I’m ensconced in a comfy chair as acting deputy principal for a few weeks so I only need to speak when dealing with recalcitrant children if the other two members of the admin team aren’t free.
In other news, the CDs for a fan-made Blakes 7 sequel that I’m acting in arrived this week and they look great.

An ad-hoc look at some faves, some recommendations for Network DVDs and blurays - grab em while they're still out in the wild!

I just read on 1 of my comicbookmovie/movie sites that Barbie has officially hit the $1Billion club. Well done. How can you get offended by Barbie ! Not bad for an Aussie lead actress who got her start by sending emails to the Producers of the biggest Aussie tv soap ever, pestering them to give her an audition (serious story, they did and they created a brand new character on the spot that they never had planned until that audition meeting)

And it is not only insecure white males.
Just read some comments on social media, I promise you whiplash from shaking your head.....

Back in the mid 90's when forums were in it's infancy. I was on a Massive forum for a Legendary band.. anyway.. Someone on the forum got their Lawyer involved and served the owners of the site - demanding IP Numbers so they could $ue these people. They kept pushing with the Legal- no big surprise, the forum slowly died.. All beacause of 1 person .. Only takes 1 .

My nephew and his wife welcomed a big, beautiful baby girl last Friday. They broke the streak of Doctor Who companion names for babies in my family. Lydia Grey Francis. She's got a couple of wonderful parents.
